I have a copy of the architectural drawing for that end zone section:

Seriously though, it will be a straight up [deleted] embarrassment if we lose to them, and it will immediately spell the beginning of the end of the June Jones era at SMU in a very ugly fashion. Fortunately I know a grand total of zero UNT graduates so I wouldn't have to hear too much crap about it, though.

There is no reason we shouldn't dominate them every year of this series through 2025 or whatever it is. No recruit should ever pick UNT over us- considerably superior education, campus, location, facilities, conference affiliation, and TV exposure at SMU. The only time I ever went to Denton was because I got lost.

I needed to take a couple of "hard" classes for the credits pass/fail but not take the hit to my GPA at SMU. So, I took them over the summer at UNT. Easiest Chemistry and Engineering classes I ever took. Was interning at downtown Dallas at the time. I remember taking way too early classes and then hauling [deleted] to downtown Dallas for my internship work day. What an ugly campus. Nice people generally, but damn . . . I'm actually nervous about playing them this year and that fact makes me want to puke.

I don't know if I could take it if we lost to UNT like the last time we did in '06 under Bennet. By the way I looked up how many times we had played each other to see the historical win/losses and found out that apparently this so-called rivalry is named the Safeway Bowl.

And this is a shot of the Wing. If you make the game, and get there early it's a good workout getting to the tip on the stairs. It gives you a great view of Denton and the surrounding area. Your ears may pop a bit on the way up though.

Must be the Houston game, the stadium is almost full.

Yes, that's the stadium's opening game against Houston. There's Case Keenum in his tenth year of eligibility.

Nice stadium, concourse, food options. Lots of tailgating on the grounds around the stadium but unless things have changed, it's a long walk to the stadium from open parking lots unless you get there quite early and park at the Super Pit across the highway, which is still a bit further than parking at Mockingbird Station for SMU games.

Both teams have similar opening game weekends, so there will be a bit of a measuring stick before the second weekend matchup. I don't expect more than 1,000 Pony fans trekking up to Denton but the MG should bring 3-5K to Ford if they can stay competitive. I might go up for that game because it will be a feisty one.

The only SMU fans that will be there will be parents of players and a few girlfriends. No one is going to Denton to watch SMU-UNT at 11AM.

I know this makes me a bad fan, but im not going because I think we will lose, and I cant take that at their place. At ours I could find a distraction.

If I were the Athletics Department, I would offer a boulevard party to the fraternity or sorority or dormatory that brings the most people to the game in Denton. Charter a bus, drink to and from the game, wade through barf on the way home, kind of like the old days. Collect tickets as the enter the bus on the way home and turn in the torn tickets to the Athletics Department to prove your numbers. Dates, alums, rushees, and friends can be included in the count. That would get the students to the game.

All real SMU fans in the area will be at the game in Denton. I will be there. Period.
