I heard someone comparing A&M to Baylor in how they progressed after losing a Heisman QB. Baylor overall obviously got better. I think we are seeing that with A&M now.

Sumlin hasn't shown any inkling of being a defensive coach, which is surprising, considering that he is a former linebacker. He will never succeed in the SEC (championships) if he can't figure the defense thing out. Gamecock QB is playing like hot garbage.

Snyder and Sumlin have been recruiting better athletes for the defense they are getting better on defense since they have a lot of young players. Sumlin is one really good of a coach. New OB for aTm is performing better than the experienced QB from South Carolina. Good job of developing QB's by Sumlin.

I grew up in SEC territory, and I look at the defense. I'm not impressed by this offense. A good SEC defensive coordinator can solve most of these offensive tricks. A&M needs to get one of the rock star defensive coordinators from another SEC school, like Ellis Johnson, or Kirby Smart or Jeremy Pruitt or John Chavis to help them with their defensive scheme. (Smart, Chavis, and Johnson beat A&m last year.)

On another note, I'm expecting Charlie Strong to do big things for the 'horns because he will bring SEC defensive tactics and combine those tactics with TX athletes. They will be a force to be reckoned with.
