Outside of UCF a high school coach could get 5 or 6 wins in the AAC this year from what I have seen so far.

I watched from start to finish and didn't see the band.

Why was the band not there? It was a half hour away, and our game is a day and a half away. That's embarrassing. If the cheerleaders can get there, so can the band.

Maybe the game day folks did not want the band there?

Band was invited and Athletics offered buses, but this was the band's first off-day since they started camp and, with the game tomorrow, they said they needed the day off. The "Hub of SMU Spirit" will be in Waco tomorrow. #PonyUp

It's hard to believe the cheerleaders didn't need a day off, since the game is tomorrow night and after all, they cheered as recently as March, or whenever the NIT was. Love me some Mustang Band, but skipping a chance for national TV exposure is hard to accept … especially when UNT's band was there, and then made to Austin for a game TODAY.

If the band was invited and didn't attend, they aren't the band they used to be. That's just wussy.

I don't know. When I was going through 2 a day practices, the band started before us and practiced later than us. I realize they are not hitting (insert joke here) but they put in many hours of work. If they truly had not had much if any time off and since they are going to Waco, I can give them a pass for not spending the day in the heat with a bunch of screaming kids. If we were in the game then I say be there but I see no harm here.

Wouldn't the band be standing around for hours for just seconds of air time. I could see the band wanting to pass if that is that case.

Give em some rest. They work their butts off and show up at lots of events on their own time.

IMO, it would have been weird for our band to go to GameDay when it wasn't our game. I thought the bands there were the bands of the schools playing. I saw a blonde girl holding a sign that said something about SMU.
