Great analogy. As an aside I never understood how Half Nelson manages to seemingly not be affected by that situation.

Mack didn't "all but quit" his last job. If he fought any harder to keep the UT Job, there would have been a bloodbath on the 40 Acres.

I meant "all but quit" as his focus and commitment deteriorated, he wanted to keep the position for the prestige/pay but was no longer capable of being a competent HC. Too many shades of June there to take seriously.

Mack didn't quit. He won 9 games his last year including embarrassing rival OU in the cotton bowl.

It was only eight games and don't forget the five blowout losses.
