I think JJs plan these last several years was to give high school players, who have no other options, a place to play and get their college education paid for. His requirements: wants to go to SMU, has no or very few other options, can play slot receiver (and if not, one of the other positions). How else could we end up with what we have?

They will be recruited over or simply not fit the new offense or they may decide to leave based on new coaching staff. I say play them if they are better than our walkon starting QB and give the new coaching staff as much tape as possible to analyze their potential. We are staring 0-12 in the face-you play any and all kids that can help in that situation. I don't think Colbert is a Division 1A QB anyway but he could help us on the field somewhere. Plus I want SMU to play all 6 QBs to finally teach Jason the meaning of "Depth". As I suspected its quite doubtful if SMU has a Division 1A QB on its roster-I want our next Coach to know that as soon as possible and act accordingly

Stallion is right on. It was either the 2012 or 2013 class that had 9 kids with absolutely no offers or interest from any other program Div. I or Div. II. Much of the rest of the class had interest from 2 schools or less. Dismal recruiting class. Any one who follows the program knows that we have had horrible recruiting for the last 4 classes. Hart can make excuses, but when he cancelled the Baylor game last year that meant to me that he was either stupid, bought into the poor JJ's dilemma syndrome and/or did not have a clue as to what was going on with recruiting and incredibly culminating matters with a contract extension. Not the actions you would expect from a first line AD. In fact, I think Hart should not be excused and we should demand his resignation/firing and start over with all new personnel.
