Yes, you are right, I did miss read, kind of like my SAT.

Still - I drew Big 12 offsides.

good luck to the next coach trying to recruit out of a conference not in the Power 5 - I am sure the next coach will put out a better recruiting effort than June - still amazed at our second rate run AD Department and President for allowing June to stay around after the Arizona State debacle

I know we are going to beat this to death for the next decade but in my memory only 1 school has ever fired its coach in the situation that SMU faced. I think Boston College. Too many to count haven't. Didn't work out great for either side at Boston College. Firing June would have been legally difficult, caused horrible anti-SMU publicity and the timing would have incredibly damaging due to the fact signing date was around the corner. If I had to bet money, my legal opinion is that SMU would have had to pay a large legal judgment or pay a large settlement buyout because SMU consented to allow Arizona St to negotiate with him. I wanted him gone for years but realize it was impractical at the time. However, both sides should have moved the earth to come to a mutually agreeable buyout last year though-both sides are now getting kicked in the nutts because of it

In your opinion was SMU hoping that the ASU deal would go through because JJ had been measured?

Perhaps this is self-evident, but I assume when JJ resigned for personal reasons, we no longer were obligated for the balance of his contract?

water i think there was a smallish buy out associated with his resignation for personal reasons….

i agree with stallion there was really not much that could have been done - except for last year sitting down and trying to come up with a "go away" number. I am guessing tiki was holding out for big dough, and we had no interest in that. We blew a year, and he blew the remainder of his career.

haha I would gladly bet a beer with anyone that chad morris is next head coach. I live literally next door to barley. It sounds to me from reading this board that multiple sources are backing up what I'm hearing on campus.

Rumors floating around a college campus give you confidence that Morris will be our next coach?

Just curious, is there a date by which if CMorris has not committed to us that we should be concerned that he's playing us against a P5 gig?

Obviously the sooner we land a HC the better, but that would most likely work against a HC's timetable.

Looks like Watson at Clemson might have gotten injured again.

Yep. Ask your son about it, because the team seems convinced who the next guy is.
