Re: TCU No. 3TCu vs Oregon, or OSU would be a really interesting game. Baylor would get killed by both IMO
Re: TCU No. 3
You do realize that as status quo that means SMU will never see another matchup against a P5 team, being G5 and all. And the continuation of that means no David/Goliah upset matches plus further separation of have and have not programs.

That's really our problem not theirs. They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: TCU No. 3
Exactly. What incentive do teams have to schedule down (for lack of a better term) if it kills their chances at the end of the season? How will programs ever work their way to the top? Texas bites. Baylor sucks. As it was in the beginning, is now, and evermore shall be. Amen.
Re: TCU No. 3It would be amusing if tcu won the national title while at the same time we are the worst team ever.
Re: TCU No. 3
THIS. Baylor did this to themselves, they could've scheduled vandy, Purdue, Colorado -- lower level team from big conference. The incarnate word thing is laughable and I don't know if you all know how low tier and bad they are, when scrimmaged high school here couple of years ago when first started they lost easily and I mean easily, and they're not much better now. Field smaller than most high schools. Bet Allen, Desoto etc would beat them now. It's like 6th grade team playing varsity, ridiculous for Baylor to schedule them. It was even joked about down here. And by the way, when Coker heard about it reached out to Baylor and they said no thanks. They would have killed UTSA also but didn't even want to play them. This is self inflicted by Baylor. And remember their TCU win took favorable clock operator holding clock and pass interference call.
Re: TCU No. 3Maybe I don't plan on SMU being a powder puff for long-and I'm not talking about scheduling a team that went to bowls 4 out of 5 years and just missed the prior year. I'm talking about scheduling Incarnate Word, Jacksonville St, and about 100 other games that are complete physical mismatches. I personally think beating a team that offers 20 less scholarship each year should not count as part of the playoff resume. I consider them exhibition nobody especially the fans and student want to watch

Re: TCU No. 3
Yep, incarnate word physical mismatch for most high school teams. Really is laughable to even think about scheduling them, division 3 trinity down here handles them. They could've just scheduled Waco Midway or Mary Hardin Baylor
Re: TCU No. 3I hope the B12 gets punished for not having a title game. TCU should fall from playing in a crap b12 and not playing a 13th game.
Pony up!
Re: TCU No. 3
Florida is turrible...like Texas Tech and Michigan.
Re: TCU No. 3
Do not forget that baylor lost to a 5 loss team by 14 pts (after playing tcu). West Va has home wins over Towson, Baylor and I believe Kansas. I think this game is what hurst Baylor the most. We have the better loss (by far), the better OOC win (by far) and have looked equally dominant im conf play. Last edited by ReedFrawg on Tue Dec 02, 2014 9:27 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Re: TCU No. 3
That would be awful, not amusing.
Re: TCU No. 3I think the committee must just be looking at final scores and not watching the games... TCU did not look that good against Texas. It was what, 20-10 early in the 4th quarter? Then Texas completely melted down.
Also they really have it out for FSU. Dropping them so that they have to play #1 in the semi-finals is ridiculous. Yeah they've played a weaker schedule, but they are the only ones who haven't slipped up once this year. Plus they scheduled Florida, Notre Dame, and Ok. St. in non-conference. Nobody knew that all 3 would end up mediocre. In preseason that looked like the toughest non-conference schedule of any of the contenders, and now they are being penalized for it.
Re: TCU No. 3Can you imagine a National Championship Game in Tarrant County with TCU playing in it? Hey it would be good for college football in the area. Maybe some might catch college football fever. I do think there is something to the point that if TCU and Baylor can do it-some conference needing a final team might consider a resurgent Top 25 SMU under Morris less of a gamble if it brought the Dallas market. Obviously, I've always thought that to be a longshot but private schools have shown a resurgence in recent years-so who knows
