Some things I heard at the signing day event

Not that I would ever have considered missing any classes ever, but I am very confident that this rule was not enforced in many if not all of the classes I was enrolled in while at SMU in the mid 90s.

I got drilled in the head by Prof Slottje with an piece of chalk for falling asleep during an Econ lecture.

Ummm I don't remember a 3 or 5 strike policy when I was at SMU.

The Smu policy was 3 absences, at least from 96-00. It was in most all syllabi. I'm guessing Dr Mayer-Martin was one of the few who actually enforced it. She ended up being one of my favorite professors and a fantastic mentor.
