New Boulevard RegulationsModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: New Boulevard Regulations9 times out of 10 anyone protesting or boycotting anything is being clownshoes, but I don't think I would blame anyone here. Drinking in front of a cop is asking for trouble at any age. Plus all the other hassles.... it really does seem like active discouragement. Is SMU trying to push out student groups to clear space to sell to alumni for more money?

[sarcasm]No, they would never do something like that.[/sarcasm] Shake It Off Moody
Re: New Boulevard Regulations
agree 100%. kids will go elsewhere and I can't say I blame them. Getting in trouble isn't worth the hassle. You guys all complain that the students never leave the blvd to come to the game...but at least they are at the blvd which helps the game day experince. What do you think the chances are that students show up if they don't even come to the blvd? They will spend the whole day at barley watching SEC games. I'm graduating this year so whatever but I would hate to kill our blvd Last edited by coloradoStang on Wed Mar 25, 2015 9:18 pm, edited 2 times in total.
Re: New Boulevard RegulationsNow that makes me snicker
Re: New Boulevard RegulationsMusic provided by the program council... How exactly is this intended to make the boulevard safer?
Re: New Boulevard RegulationsHow many fraternity kids go to the game instead of going home a hundred or so?
Re: New Boulevard RegulationsI have to believe some of this is for insurance cost savings. It is a little harsh for any other reason.
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: New Boulevard Regulations
That is exactly how the majority of the student body is feeling. Not just because of this, but this one is bad. Last edited by coloradoStang on Wed Mar 25, 2015 9:22 pm, edited 2 times in total.
Re: New Boulevard RegulationsAll legal cya....land holder can be held liable for 3rd party actions.
Re: New Boulevard Regulations"by accepting this wristband the patron surrenders all rights to litigation" blah blah blah
Re: New Boulevard Regulationslook - the issue isn't with our administration. It is illegal to drink under 21 - therefore when SMU throws what is basically a huge party every home game we are turning the other way on underage drinking. These are the "published rules" to get us out of a jam if anyone sues us - it is insurance driven. THe Blvd will be basically the same as it has always been.
THe music and water is truly stupid. and it says "security" - NOT police - so that is not as big a deal as it is being made out to be. Calm down - nobody wants to kill the Blvd.
Re: New Boulevard RegulationsScrew them they don't go to football games or the basketball games
Re: New Boulevard RegulationsDoes the grove, or TCU, have similar requirements?

Re: New Boulevard RegulationsHave there been any issues on the Blvd recently that would have motivated this? I don't remember any gunfire last year
