Re: Sumlin and A&Malong that same line of thinking....most will say Texas high school football and it's recruits are the best or at least in the top 3 if you consider both quality and quantity. So why can't our flagship universities in Texas win National Championships when they cherry-pick the best recruits in Texas? I mean multiple championships like SC, Alabama, LSU, OU...not just the isolated cases like UT in 2006 and SMU in the 80's? The aggies are truly disappointing for a long time now except for Manziel.
Re: Sumlin and A&M
To be fair you should count OU in the mix of elite programs based on Texas recruiting also if you expand your criteria to title appearances Texas and OU have had a lot in the last 10 years. As for the Aggies, they immediately jumped on a hype train, as aggies always do about their program despite nothing to justify their illusions of grandeur, after having a great college level player. Low an behold they are becoming exactly what they have always been a mediocre team. The only difference is that now that they are in the SEC they benefit from the SEC bias and even an 8-4 team has a great chance to be considered top 10.
Re: Sumlin and A&Mwell the other advantage is that handy 40 million dollar check.
