Hopefully we can get this win and end on the last game with a high note. We have solid recruiting, better scoring and hopefully a better record than last season. The future looks bright and hopefully nothing puts that out.

Just wondering...we're sure these guys know they don't get a better chance at a top draft seed by losing, right?

This has always been our best chance to win in conference.

Offense has to score more than 14 to win. And I believe they will score more than 14.

http://www.sportsdaydfw.com/college-sports/smumustangs/2015/11/17/five-things-smu-fans-know-conference-foe-tulaneSMU is eliminated from bowl contention and is coming off yet another loss. But the Mustangs have an opportunity to notch their first victory since September at home against Tulane on senior night. Tulane, however, is coming off a win over Army and is looking to finish the season strong.
Record: 3-7, 1-5 AAC Last: Defeated Army, 34-31, on Nov. 14
Key number: 223.9. That's how many passing yards Tulane is giving up per game. The Green Wave have actually held four opponents to fewer than 200 yards passing. It will be interesting to see how SMU quarterback Matt Davis fares against this secondary given his recent struggles.
1. Overview -- Tulane just isn't a very good football team. The Green Wave are 3-7 and sit near the bottom of the American Athletic Football Conference. Five of their seven losses came by 28 points or more, including a 55-point blowout at the hands of Georgia Tech. Tulane's three victories came over Maine, UCF and Army. The latter happened over the weekend, so the Green Wave are heading into this matchup with SMU with plenty of momentum. Yes, this is a winnable game for the Mustangs at home, but SMU hasn't been much better this season and is in no position to take Tulane lightly.
2. 100s -- Tulane doesn't do anything particularly well. The Green Wave rank near the bottom of every major statistical category. On the offensive side of the ball, Tulane averages a mere 18 points per game -- good enough for 120th in the nation. The unit struggles both throwing and running the ball, ranking 100th in passing yards per game and 124th in rushing yards per contest. And it doesn't get much better on the defensive side of the ball either. The Green Wave give up 34.1 points per game, which ranks 105th in the FBS. Simply put, Tulane is statistically one of the worst teams in college football.
3. Playmakers -- Tulane doesn't have very many weapons, but two players that could give the Mustangs fits are wide receivers Teddy Veal and Devon Breaux. Veal leads the team with 39 receptions for 554 yards and four touchdowns. Veal is Tulane quarterback Tanner Lee's favorite target and should see plenty of looks against an awful SMU secondary. Beaux can stretch the field1, and SMU has struggled tremendously against the deep ball. Breaux has recorded 25 catches for 431 yards and three touchdowns this season.
4. Under pressure -- One area where Tulane has excelled is up front. The Green Wave have lived in opposing backfields, ranking first in the AAC in tackles for loss this season with 80. Tulane also ranks eighth nationally in that category and 55th in the country with 22 sacks. Leading the way for Tulane is monster defensive tackle Tanzel Smart, who has the most tackles for loss on the team with 13. Defensive end Royce LaFrance, who was actually recruited by SMU, and linebacker Nico Marley are next in line with 12 a piece. This will be a tough test for the SMU offensive line.
5. Series -- This will be the first time SMU squares off with Tulane since 2012. That matchup resulted in an embarrassing loss for the Ponies and June Jones. The Green Wave marched 68 yards in 48 seconds to knock off SMU, 27-26, and snap a 15-game losing streak. It was one of the darker moments in Jones' tenure on the Hilltop. Overall, Tulane leads the series, 13-8. SMU, however, has won three of the last four contests. The two teams first squared off in 1943 -- Tulane came out on top, 12-6.

Excellent. I will have plenty of time to burn a stick and make the rounds. Baller, I plan on stopping by. Anyone needs a cigar let me know.
