UNT on the Road (W) btw UNT beat Marshall at Home 38-21 showing it wasn't a gimmie
Temple on the Road
Tulsa on the Road
Tulane on the Road
ECU on the Road

Yes that is a tough schedule-the easier games are all on the Road. The teams we are unlikely to beat are at Home. Too many fans don't understand how hard it is to win on the Road especially a young team. I know that's why I predicted 4-8 before the injuries started. Seriously, after Hick's performance in the spring game, most SMU fans would have predicted 2 maybe 3 wins if they had know Davis and Xavier would be out for the Year in Game 1 not to mention half of the Offensive Line

I seem to remember June's second year wins were mostly because of opportunistic or lucky defensive plays. Like margus blocking kicks all the damn time.

@Pony Boss...Personally I am not a fan of Matt Davis, but I do recognize that Matt Davis is more than capable of winning a few games for us (and has). I recognize Matt Davis is out for the year. I am in the camp of thinking that Matt Davis was more of an "athlete" than a QB. Example see almost every successful QB in Texas High School Football. Think Matt Davis at SMU. No one will question Matt Davis's heart or god-given athletic ability. Matt Davis has the ability to create when designed plays get blown up. Matt is really a run first QB who makes plays sometimes out of nothing and at times is fun to watch. Unfortunately his run-first approach can be risky, fumbles happen, he takes serious hits that other QBs might not take and he puts himself in position to get injured. Matt would rather make plays with his legs than get his WRs or RBs involved. At times his decision making could definitely be better.

Let's not turn this into a Matt Davis vs Ben Hicks thread. I wish Matt Davis well and am grateful for the handful of games over his SMU career where he played well, but by no means do I think that Matt Davis is the answer next year. The kid has heart, but I never thought he was the answer at QB. My hopes are that Matt Davis's SMU Career is over and that we bring in a "new" QB next year who can run the Chad Morris Offense that we have heard about.

Other than Brewer and Peavy... What QBs will be on the roster next season who can win SMU games?

You hope Matt Davis's career is over? We need 20 Matt Davises. Even if he's not our starting QB he could be very valuable in situational scenarios or as a backup. You realize how incredibly thin we are at QB currently, right?

Peavy
Brewer (early enrollee)
Davis
Hicks

should all be in there battling it out during the spring. Its time for Colbert to move on-he's had his 4 years- especially with his foolish actions that jeopardized the progress of the program. He'll be 5th string if he stays
