That in mind, I would replace Lance with Hixson and name Lance as the MVP QB. He stands above all in the wins record book but was not a traditional style QB.
Care to elaborate on this Mrydel? Can you provide your list #1 to #5?
I have no problem with the 5 chosen but I do think Chuck should be in the top five. So to do that I am putting Lance in a stand alone category of all time best in SWC and slipping Chuck in. I am allowed to do that be because I am me.

You should set up a committee for this - now that the WDNWHA committee workload has dropped so significantly.

The WDNWHA Committee is always working. If sports get stable or slow we have a side contract with FarmersOnly.com

I was an intramural QB. I should be on the list for leading a bunch of engineers to the semifinals a.k.a. Hard Mode.

2. Lance McIlhenny -- One of the greatest option quarterbacks in college football history, McIlhenny was the leader of some of SMU's best teams. He was a three-time All-SWC selection and is SMU's all-time winningest quarterback.
Hey DMN, he was the all-time winningest quarterback in SWC history.
Oh, and I would include Hixson as well.
Not lazy journalism ... or any other kind. The fact that DMN layoffs included Bill Nichols but not the "author" of this tells you all you need to know about the paper's standards. It's like the clownshow ESPN has become.

Sat next to him at a Three Dog Night concert at the Cotton Bowl. I have no idea what year that was.

This is an underrated accomplishment. My stay under center for my SMU intramural team was brief since I had trouble with throwing a football accurately anywhere beyond 10 feet. WR was always my best position.
