Best part about this idiotic post is the fact that grade inflation is rampant at Ivy's and a serious complaint profered by students. Give him a B+. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I hope he is able to recruit or develop NFL quarterbacks. During his time at Cal he recruited Jared Goff and Davis Webb.

Good solid hire. About the best we could expect.

Everyone know's my position. Done. On to more serious things, my first worry with this hire is what I've seen from one player so far: Ken McLaurin "Serious decisions to be made about my future over winter break" FR-RS. Again in my criticisms, I'm worried about player attrition. Not just in the recruits but our FS/SO core.

Not a big splash hire it would have been a few years ago, but considering the market not bad. He's done well under tough circumstances and Cal is a tough place to win in the PAC12, far away from his recruiting base. That job was a bad P5 jump for him. He clearly wanted to return to Texas. He has good Texas recruiting contacts. If he gets a decent DC and some young assistants for recruiting (not to sound like half the people on this thread), I think we'll continue to stabilize and improve on the field. He's a good coach. We should give him a support and a chance.
I still hope we don't manage to screw up the IPF (for which, despite all the chatter recently on this board, crickets in the news) and get some marketing for the program off the field.
Support the Commitment! We're all SMU Mustangs fans- we should all be committed!

Any player that gets a,P-5 offer, especially an SEC offer, is gone regardless of our coach.

S-D
Head coaching record Overall 41–45 Bowls 1–1
Accomplishments and honors Championships 1 WAC (2011) Awards WAC Coach of the Year (2011
So if you have a losing college football record I guess you'd be below average.

as I said about Morris-I'm going to defend Dykes-nobody should give a rats-ass about what happened it Year 1 (or even Year 2 if its a Total rebuild). Take out Year 1 and he is 35-25

It definitely will be a re-build (square 1) if all the good FS/SO transfer out. If that's the case, I won't blame Dykes but definitely blame Hart and company for that result on picking Dykes.

I think this is a legitimate fear, but I also think its a bit premature. The dude hasn't talked to the players, he doesn't have a staff yet. All of that could easily excite people there. It reminds me of when at my job we go through executive restructuring and suddenly you're unsure about the new management. Many people freak out and start updating their resumes, others stay because they're a bit more on the complacent side, and others get excited about the new possibilities that they now have but didn't before. It's the same here.

if these 'turncoat' players want out then I hope in his release he will restrict them from going to swine U. or any AAC school.
