The CDC has been all over the map, and they have changed their position over time on issues such as mask wearing. The fact that CDC guidance has changed from "no evidence that masks will protect from COVID", to wear a mask, to various other mask(s) + vaccine combinations, demonstrates that "science" isn't always correct (i.e they can't be correct the first time, if they later change their guidance). Most PonyFans are too young to remember, but in the '50s, a polio vaccine CAUSED 40,000 cases of polio and left hundreds of kids paralyzed.
So while both my Dr. wife and I have chosen to get fully vaccinated, the RNA sequencing vaccines are fairly new tech. So I think this, like other healthcare choices, is something where each individual needs to make the choice that is best for them and their family.
My only request (and I realize it's probably an impossibly large one given what constitutes average IQ) is that folks need to be thoughtful of others should they decide to forgo masks and shots.
Absolutely, guidance is going to change as we learn more about the disease. It tends to be overly conservative up front and loosen up as we learn more. Science isn't correct 100% of the time. But the people who study a certain field (in this case Epidemiologists) are a heck of a lot more likely to be correct than anyone else. Does it make more sense to follow the advice of the epidemiologist community (90% chance of being correct), or literally anyone else (at most a 50-50 shot)? Unfortunately, most people just find excuses to do what they want to do, rather than following expert guidance or doing what is good for others. Which is why we end up having way too many rules and laws.

Selfishness is not the only reason someone would decide not to get vaccinated. One reason we are uneasy is we do not trust government health policy and we do not trust the medical establishment. See low fat dietary dogma as but one example of “settled science.” Detractors were mocked for decades. https://www.nytimes.com/2002/07/07/maga ... .html?_r=0

Good Point Pony Boy. The food labeling act of 1978 was a point of fault with my father. Dad was hired by Earl Cabell to run his sales department for Cabell's Dairy.
The 1978 Bill demonized fat as the reason for unhealthy Americans. Look at the health issues today. Diabeties is the killer. Sugar was given a pass and fat was made bad. Nature provides sugar and fat in natural ways and the indians knew that good meat was healthy. What I am saying is.... The science of the day got it wrong and million have gone the way of diabeties. Nasty way to go out.
The use of the word Vaccines is not a proper label. Only Johnson and Johnson has a vaccine. Now that is a differnt story.
coronavirus is real, wash your hands, don't go around people if your ill, watch the people with Comorbitities.

Please read: https://www.aafp.org/journals/fpm/blogs ... tancy.htmlFor your 43%, break that number down and you will find epidemiologists are way into the 80% range, and so are physicians. The Nurses and the techs are the ones holding out, and the ones holding out are the ones who haven't been treating the disease.

Surely you wouldn't mind elaborating on this? Genuine curiosity. For example one definition would be "a substance used to stimulate the production of antibodies and provide immunity against one or several diseases, prepared from the causative agent of a disease, its products, or a synthetic substitute, treated to act as an antigen without inducing the disease." The mRNA shots stimulate the production of antibodies without giving you the disease when all is said and done. Yeah it makes your own cells create the protein that needs to be targeted so it's a 2 degrees of Kevin Bacon here.

Yes she is fully vaccinated, yes she had the choice and jumped at the chance as soon as it was offered. I have a PhD in immunology, I also am fully vaccinated and took it as soon as I could. I will gladly answer any questions…

Can you answer the question how two people constitute a statistically significant sample?

Thanks White . The CDC has recorded 5000 deaths from the vaccines but I guess that’s minuscule compared to how many have been administered . Can’t live forever. Also if I may ask Madonna or Pfizer

It’s not but I just answered the question he asked. Although recent AMA surveys have vaccination rates amongst MDs at ~95%.
