Re: BOISE and MEMPHIS to the new Big12 (Boise won't join AACYou take a P5 conference, remove the two biggest markets from their brand. Add in four little markets from G5 and that makes you still a P5 conference? If you wanted to contend that you have a better basketball conference now that UT and OU left, and added UCF, Cincy, UH and BYU, I'd probably agree with you. But you didn't. The ratings won't lie and in the future, your conference will get the same treatment as the AAC. I'm sure that TCU/Cincy game will set Nielson records along with the Baylor/UCF game. Advertisers will flock to that TT/KU game.

Re: BOISE and MEMPHIS to the new Big12 (Boise won't join AACFACT: BYU brings in a national fanbase and is considered by the media industry as the same as any P 5 Conference school and in fact better in almost every way - to most P 5 schools. BYU is the only school out there that will actually add a ton of significant revenue to the Big 12 in next media deal.
FACT: A media expert recently stated that the only loss to the Big 12 is OKLAHOMA. BYU is a really good replacement for TEXAS and with TEXAS being mediocre to bad in football in the Big 12 and BYU being really good (11-1 last yr and ranked # 15 this yr), there is no real loss with TEXAS leaving (ranked # 38 this year and dropping) and a really good BYU football program replacing them. FACT: there is no replacement for OKLAHOMA and admittedly that is a loss. However, getting into the ORLANDO, HOUSTON, and CINCINNATI markets does help compensate (especially with CINN ranked # 8 in nation and OU ranked #5 = pretty close to even steven trade there - ranking wise) and the last rough estimate from media outlets are that the Big 12 may not take much of a financial haircut at all when OU and UT leave. Initially everyone said the haircut would be a 50% cut in revenue but that has changed drastically recently and the Media execs have told the Big 12 that with the additional teams there may only be a minor 10% cut in revenue. Which is fantastic news for the Big 12. FACT: The tables have turned BIGTIME on the PAC 12 !! Lots of folks in the know are now thinking that the PAC 12 is going to be the conference that gets poached in the future - NOT THE BIG 12 !! Reason is that USC is very unhappy and the media outlets are most likely NOT GOING TO INCREASE the TV money for the PAC 12 in 2024, and USC has already stated that they will be furious if that happens. Big 12 is likely to get both ARIZONA schools if media deal in 2024 is lousy (and every expert in the field is saying it is going to be a lousy deal). PAC 12 is gonna be in big trouble !! FACT: TCU will probably be the Lead horse in the Big 12 and go to the CFplayoff each year for a HUGE payoff. TCU therefore won't take any payout if they go to a NY6 Bowl or the Playoff. FACT: Big 12 teams are very very excited about the new League and playing the new teams. Those teams are going to be elevated to bigtime teams in the new League and you will see them get tons of new recognition, lots of added money, and their reputations nationally will skyrocket ! GONNA BE A REALLY FUN LEAGUE TO BE IN !!!! Very competitive too. All the Big 12 teams can't wait to get this party started (and get rid of UT and OU) and start the huge fun of very competitive games with some really cool teams. GONNA BE HOOT !!

Re: BOISE and MEMPHIS to the new Big12 (Boise won't join AACCURRENT AP COLLEGE FOOTBALL RANKINGS
OKLAHOMA - # 5 (this is indeed a loss for the Big 12 but TEXAS is no loss at all !!) CINCINNATTI - # 8 IOWA ST - # 14 BYU - # 15 KANSAS ST - # 25 TCU - # 26 OKLAHOMA ST - # 28 BAYLOR - # 29 UCF - # 30 TEXAS - # 38 (good riddance) (TEXAS is 2-7 vs TCU in the Big 12) (we don't need the crybabies in this League and they suck at football besides)
Re: BOISE and MEMPHIS to the new Big12 (Boise won't join AACInteresting that the American Athletic Conference provides you 3 ranked teams (at this point in the season), including the highest ranked one, Cincinnati, after departing Oklahoma.
You're welcome. ![]() Pony Up
Re: BOISE and MEMPHIS to the new Big12 (Boise won't join AAC
Define large stadium. I'm guessing you're talking about their old capacity of 70,000, but it is now 47,000. That's bigger than most G5 and some P5 stadia, but not by a huge amount.
Re: BOISE and MEMPHIS to the new Big12 (Boise won't join AAC
They closed down seats so it wouldn't look so empty when they do get TV time. Not unlike how pathetic SMU looked playing in the Cotton Bowl and even Texas Stadium
Re: BOISE and MEMPHIS to the new Big12 (Boise won't join AAC
Rice's changes went beyond tarping some usable seats. First they demolished an entire end zone and put up a building. That's 11,000 seats that could never come back. Then there's the othe 12,000 seats. Those had to be removed because the maintenance was so neglected. Technically the stadium could be expanded to 59,000 by installing those seats, but they haven't even reached 60% of the reduced capacity for any game including a ranked Baylor visiting.
Re: BOISE and MEMPHIS to the new Big12 (Boise won't join AACRice, like SMU and so many others really doesn't need more than 32-40,000 seats
Re: BOISE and MEMPHIS to the new Big12 (Boise won't join AACI guess the Pac12 will look somewhere else. Can’t join PAC 12 when you consistently lose to SMU.

Re: BOISE and MEMPHIS to the new Big12 (Boise won't join AAC
Or you go wth the real deal and invite SMU.

Re: BOISE and MEMPHIS to the new Big12 (Boise won't join AAC
If we only had enough people who cared and could pack Ford Stadium for the rest of our home games as this team deserves...
Re: BOISE and MEMPHIS to the new Big12 (Boise won't join AACWe'll see. Dallas loves a winner. Will we be ranked next week?
Re: BOISE and MEMPHIS to the new Big12 (Boise won't join AACUSF is hardly a big draw in Dallas. If we aren't offering bargain deals to entice "newbies" to come out and check out the SMU campus and this team, we just aren't trying
Re: BOISE and MEMPHIS to the new Big12 (Boise won't join AACIsn’t it homecoming? Should be a good turnout.
