Exactly- like the idiot who doesn't want the genius in his class because it would raise the grade level of the class.

When we win conference this year and go to a new year’s six bowl game, both the Big 12 and ACC will be falling all over themselves to invite SMU. Go Mustangs!!

This should be pinned. Well said.

Shrub is another sycophant that uses SMU. Your post is trite. Full of literal interpretations of ancient texts that do not apply. Understandable that your politics run to the right of Atilla the Hun. Regardless, its bad form for any University to associate itself with polarizing figures that do not espouse even the most basic tenants of academic freedom. I would expect such an association at Liberty or Bob Jones, never at a mainstream school like SMU. Its interesting that shrub was very quiet during the PAC speculations. Indeed. If he had opened his mouth it would have doomed our chances from the outset. Now he surfaces again to "lead the charge" while the rest of the country scorns us. BTW: maybe you and froggie loser should visit the shrub "library". Nothing too overwhelming for the mentally challenged considering the singular title that resides there.

Um, I never voted for W and never will. But I’m glad he’s trying.

Orguy, I’m not a fan of dismissive post, including labeling others without knowing much about them.

Politics aside, Former President George W Bush has always been a strong supporter of SMU, particularly SMU athletics. We didn’t need his influence to gain a PAC 12 invite, the PAC 12 needed us (for a number of reasons). After the PAC 12 imploded, based on media reports he’s strongly advocating for SMU with the ACC. so thank you W. Anyone thinking that’s a bad thing is blind. And it’s not scorn your seeing in the chat rooms, it’s envy.

The assumptions you make are in error. I am in fact a gay man who has known the wrath of confident indignation and exclusion for opposite reasons than those you voice in opposition to W.
I learned the hard way, when being gay was illegal and friends arrested, that assumptions are by neccessity based in bias. I don't wish you ill, I like that you too love SMU. I am only compelled to be inclusive of all those who wish SMU good regardless of my agreement or disagrement with other aspect of thier lives. I am by learning a person of inclusion and thank all who work towards the advance of SMU.

Come on. This is about the future of SMU football. Either we move up or have to kick the door in. My view is this year, we’ve got the best team we’ve had since the death penalty. This is the year to kick the door. So while we use everything asset we can to move up, kicking the door can also happen this year. I don’t want to stay in a conference with the College and University of North Texas, UTSA, Florida Atlantic, UNCC. So cut the bickering, and let’s lock arms for our Mustangs. 13-0 is the goal. Then the world we suddenly realize Peruna is baaack.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Agreed...and 13-0 would make SMU this year's media darlings!

I disagree with much of George W. Bush's politics but, as a former President who is not under indictment, people pick up the phone when he places a call I'm glad that he thinks it is worthwhile to advocate for S.M.U. We are a more diverse fanbase than many would think and sports should unite us rather than fracture us.
