Re: Official: SMU vs. Baylor Threadlack of depth will always show in second half
Sent from my KOREAN knockoff using Tapdance 5
Official: SMU vs. Baylor ThreadDidn't we only give up 45 last year? Hard to believe we were only down 7 at half.

Re: Official: SMU vs. Baylor ThreadI understand there is cause for optimism but it's the same story over and over again.
Re: Official: SMU vs. Baylor Thread
You mean except for the fact that there's cause for optimism?
Re: Official: SMU vs. Baylor Threadwe don't have the horses to compete with a top 10 team but what I saw tonight leads me to believe we will be very competitive in the AAC. Bring on UNT
Re: Official: SMU vs. Baylor Thread
If we go 2-2 OOC, we have a decent chance of bowling.

Re: Official: SMU vs. Baylor ThreadThe reality of this team and the lack of talent and depth was/is well known. Evaluations from spring practice made it very clear that both the O and D lines were short on talent and depth. In addition, our lack of speed and size at the DB position was also well documented. I believe this staff has done an amazing job based on what I observed this evening. They have really coached up every aspect of the team and instilled a positive attitude. I know that performing well for only 1/2 a game does not translate into any wins; however, Baylor is a top team with great depth, experience and speed and we played them very well until our lack of depth caused us to be spent/fatigued in the 3d quarter. I view this game as very positive. The team is well coached, the play calling was generally very good, the staff recruited a good frosh class and many frosh played and played very well. We all realistically knew that the goal this season was to improve, be competitive and maybe win a few games while recruiting all our weak positions and for depth. We will continue improve and I will enthusiastically look forward to the development of this team which may not necessarily be graded based on wins and losses, but improvement, attitude and competitiveness.
