When you have [deleted] poor attendance from an apathetic fanbase you aren't getting the better bowl slots. Period.
It will be a real test of HCCM leadership abilities to get the team fired up to play in a high school stadium.
You know the Frisco Bowl is not at the High School stadium, right? It's at Toyota Stadium, which is a great facility for a game like that. http://www.texasbob.com/stadium/stadium.php?id=246It's a HS stadium that they play soccer in. Frisco ISD is a major tenant and uses the stadium more than the soccer team does. High School Stadium. Not even a good football stadium at that. Might as well play in Allen if they wanted to put it in a good HS stadium. Allen has had crowds over 22K before and there is plenty of room in the End Zone to add additional temporary seating.[/quote] Frisco ISD is not a tenant at the stadium at all. It uses the stadium for some football games in the fall, but it is a soccer stadium. As it is home to professional sports events it is far better equipped than the HS stadium in Allen. It has suites, clubs, beer pouring facilities, television boards, better press facilities etc. Once the HOF is finished next year it will have 2.5k more seats than Allen, and more clubs and facilities. It has hosted the Division I FCS championship game for years and people love it. Having a bowl game there makes a lot of sense. Just not very exciting for them, or us, to have SMU in it. Last time I watched us play La Tech was as a student in 04. Walked in stadium, we were getting blown out, walked out. I don’t miss the WAC days.

A great reward for the team, too. You remember, the TEAM. Busted their ars to get to go to FRISCO?
maybe the players would LOVE frisco because more family and friends could catch them in a bowl game? i dont know how so many people on here can speak for 19 year-olds with vastly different sets of priorities.

The players want to go where there is Sun and "Big water-ocean water"

I think my biggest fear is that IF SMU does get summoned to Frisco, and the matchup is not great, if we fail to fill the stadium that will be a huge disincentive for Chad or any other coach to ever want to stay/come here. If it is a game that requires travel then obviously a small crowd is an excuse. Frisco would not offer that excuse.

Which will be larger - attendance at Frisco Bowl or Highland Park Playoff game at Ford?

The best thing is that whomever we play in the Frisco Bowl is likely to be even more disappointed than us to be there.

I think we would sell a ton of tickets. Stadium capacity is only like 15 or 16k right now so it would be full for TV purposes as well.

Maybe a CUSA or SunBelt team would, but a MAC team (and its fans) would enjoy traveling to Texas for a few days in December.

Not sure if some of y'all have even been out there with the way you are talking. Even at it's smaller size Toyota is actually nicer than Ford in a lot of ways. Also not sure why some keep calling it a HS stadium when it's main tenet is a pro soccer team that is the only reason the stadium was even built out the way it was.
