Of course a "positive outcome" could be a decision not to take on any coast to coast travel for the ACC's student athletes

Could be… Let’s keep it Positive. I guess the long shot theory is that UNC already is aware a vote has been flipped and they are mad about it, hence the statement? Likely not but grasping for straws…

If the ACC doesn't happen, I still like the idea of trying to form the "Pacific American Conference" with the PAC 4 and the best 8-12 programs from the MWC & American to form what would undoubtedly be one of the 5 strongest football conferences. I'm assuming the CFP will be revised to a 5 + 7 format where the top 5 conferences get an auto invite for their champion and the 4 highest rated teams get a 1st round bye

Peruna Power wrote:It doesn’t look like this is going to turn out well tomorrow. North Carolina is a hard “no” vote. I can’t imagine NC State goes against UNC. So it comes down to whether Clemson and Florida State vote “yes” which I would find hard to believe. Screw the Tar Heals… https://www.si.com/fannation/college/cf ... -expansion
Why would a couple board members out this statement out? They don’t have the vote, the president does. This feels like some guys who know this is happening want to go on record saying they think it’s a bad idea.

Positive juju only please. I had pretty much given up the hope we would ever be in a meaningful conference. Now I go to bed dreaming of seeing Duke come to Moody. SMU playing at a Doak stadium that’s not our Doak! It’s like viagra. But better. Regardless of the outcome this short time period has been filled with excitement. More excitement than playing UNT on a Saturday. I’m thankful for all those making the push to make this a possibility. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Please refer to Peruna Power's idea. I honestly think such a defiant and angry statement is this dude knowing he lost the war but he needs to suck up to his board and constituents.
"Oh, I held the moral ground for NC but the greedy people outvoted me.
Guess we'll see in a few hours.

Let’s hope that NC State folks have the stones to part ways with the Heels on this vote. Heck UNC folks view State like UT views the Sand Aggies. If UNC gets an invitation to the B1G do you think they’d hold out for State to get an invite. State needs to flip off UNC and do the right thing.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Again, tempest in a teacup. NC is not the mover and shaker of the ACC. If Fst or Clemson came out with this absurd and random statement I might be concerned.
And maybe, just maybe NC St looked at the Pac 12 and saw how little it mattered when you're "connected at the hip" to a school and they bounce. Talk to Cal or OrgSt about that.
I think FST and Clemson got what they wanted for now until they raise enough money AND find an invitation to the SEC. Thus the virtue signaling from NC.
We will see...

"Without ironclad assurances that the proposed expansion serves the interest of UNC-Chapel Hill, we believe it should be voted down.”
You can just read that as they want a more significant piece of the pie and are using this as leverage. They may use it to exit the conference with fewer restrictions than currently written in their agreement. I do not read that as they are a NO in all circumstances—more posturing and negotiating.
