From ACCModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: From ACCHot Damn!
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: From ACCThis is such great news! To all the naysayers, this conference represents the combination of athletics and sports in the nation. Well done.
Have a lot of respect for the 12 universities that voted for this.
Re: From ACC
Literally could not have asked for a more perfect scenario. ![]()
Re: From ACC
I suppose we should thank the Big XII for the "assist" in making this happen
Re: From ACCIf this is true, I suspect the ACC teams will be fighting each other on who gets to come to Dallas. Talk about helping their recruiting. I hope those who voted against us, don't come for about 8 years.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: From ACC
HaHa! 3 pages worth of complaints on their board. We all owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to our BMD. Pony Up!
Re: From ACCI'm giving TCU a" pony up" with the index ear down.
Re: From ACCFor SMU fans wondering about scheduling, I believe that the ACC will be moving to a nine-game conference schedule that includes only two permanent opponents. Cal, SMU, and Stanford will likely be each other’s annual opponents in this scenario to reduce travel on the rest of the conference. Then, you’d rotate between two groups of seven schools each that will be a geographic blend. This means that you’d play at every ACC stadium once every four years. For SMU, it’d probably look something like this:
• Annual opponents: Cal, Stanford • Even years: Duke, Boston College, Clemson, Miami, Pitt, UNC, Virginia • Odd years: FSU, Georgia Tech, Louisville, NCST, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest
Re: From ACCAdd Notre Dame to the list. We use to be rivals
Re: From ACC
Too bad they are dropping us from their schedule. We will just have to make do with, oh I don't know, maybe playing Notre Dame instead?
Re: From ACCWhat a great day to be a Mustang! Selfishly excited to have some games closer to home.
Re: From ACCAll time in football vs the new ACC -
Boston College: 1-0-0 California:1-0-0 Clemson: 0-0-0 Duke: 0-2-0 Florida State: 0-0-0 Georgia Tech: 2-8-1 Louisville: 2-0-0 Miami: 1-0-0 North Carolina: 0-2-0 North Carolina State: 1-2-0 Pittsburgh: 3-2-1 Stanford: 0-1-0 Syracuse: 1-0-0 Virginia: 0-0-0 Virginia Tech: 2-1-0 Wake Forest: 3-0-0 And... Re: From ACCDoes Sonny The Snake deserve a little credit too? I think his deeds might have fired the money men up!
Re: From ACC
I never liked Notre Dame but I travelled to our pre DP game in South Bend in the 80s. I have never visited a friendlier more welcoming place for visitors. Our band didn't make the trip so their band played our fight song for a group of us! Class all the way.
Re: From ACC
