Not only that, but trying to run a counter when the other team is stacking the box and run blitzing.

Tulsa is one of the least talented teams in the conference.

Completely agree.

Understand the uniqueness of OL position, but absent that, CM’s approach should be that with a little more success on the field, he will out-recruit these classes.

Wins are critical to maintain and build momentum.

That game was a heart breaker. Our team showed grit, fight, and the tears at the end means they give a sh*t. We are moving in the right direction. Glad I was at the game and am looking forward to watching these boys mature and win.

When you are outgunned, you HAVE to take chances,,,think R. E. Lee here. We were/are still outgunned.

-You go for it on 4 and 1, from an old-school standard under-center set...the O-line has to simply maintain and the QB gets the yard with help from "blocking backs"...a slow, deep kicker fooled no one.

-Interceptions in the red zone? None tonight....of course that option largely disappeared.

-Special teams actually had a few brighter spots, although it was still a Tulsa win in field position. We will lose another game because of this deficiency...

-You play to win...we played 'not to lose' on the final two drives. Unacceptable in our current condition. We still should have won by four.

Improved yes, but he also had at least 4 passes hit defenders but not intercepted. That could have gone South much earlier.

Hicks took some mean hits tonight. He was better, but still made errors. But, that mofo is tough, I mean tough.

This. Hicks was good but definitely not great. Tulsa's defense is really bad. They missed several easy picks.

Is Carmouche injured? If not.... Why would they not use him on 3rd and short?? He's 4 yards per carry when OL is at worst. Sorry, but West is a disaster go to RB on 3rd and short.

Especially after Freeman got hurt. There has to be a reason we didn't see him tonight.

Our special teams, outside of FG and FG Block are god awful....I hope this is a point out of emphasis during our bye week. Receiver drops were disappointing. Agree with so many of the other posters about trying to run it up the middle on 3 and shorts and we should have gone for the win at the end....can't play scared/reserved when we need every win desperately.

On a positive note: I think we just secured the all-time record for moral victories.

when you look at game stats, Tulsa just whipped us up and down the field, but penalties kept us in this game. Definitely an opportunity lost and a game that leaves everyone second guessing...woulda, coulda, shoulda...and I'm sure the coaching staff will feel that way when they review film. At least there was improvement from last week's debacle. Other than the end result, which I felt during the entire game was inevitable, this was a fun game to watch. Can't say that very often about this program.

West is good in a open field, but he goes down easily in an arm tackle. I don't understand coaches short yardage decisions.
