As far as Barry goes, there were rumors that if Houston Nutt would've taken the Nebraska job, Switzer was in line to become coach at Arkansas. I'm sure he has general interest in returning. After coaching one of the, if not the most, storied college and pro teams in history, I don't think SMU would meet his criteria. Imagine how crooked Barry Switzer, SMU head coach, would've sounded in 1990. Hell, its sounds crooked now.
Ditto on Gerald Ford's contributions, but I think Switzer as coach sounds more fun than crooked now.

We are a college footbal program (I know it's hard to believe sometimes..), right? We are southern, last time I looked....struggling? I looked up struggling in Websters and it said, see SMU footbal...so, I say we QUIT SCREWING AROUND, cut our losses, and do EVERYTHING in our POWER to get Steve......he would immediately re-energize this program, create a stir in the community, with alums, and in college football, would take the program to the level you all seem to think we can get to......why not? Long Live Dave Smith.
A - that will never happen
B - Spurrier visited the University of Washington this past weekend
C - today Washington announced stadium renovation as a top priority

If it comes to this, we should consider RC Slocum first. Guy has only been out of coaching for 2 years and lots of ties to Texas. He'd be a good choice. Yeah, I know he runs an unimaginative offense, but if we consistently won 8 games a year, I wouldn't care if we ever threw a pass again.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I would agree that he deserves a refund. However, with all due respect, if Gerald decides that he wants to do something in this regard, it is certainly his perogative, and his money.

If we could win 8 games a year I wouldn't give a crap if we ran the T or Maryland I. In fact I might be willing to *gasp* pay for good tickets to the game.
