got married during DP...to a Seminole grad...she doesn't understand about the losing or the fact that I keep coming back after each heartache and loss...I just tell her:
"I am an an SMU fan."
...she is however VERY understanding when there is a close game or heartbreaking loss. That said, I still will not turn the tv off again with two minutes to go after a disgusting 4th down play...I promise...ever...

Myrdel: your story sounds similar to mine...except that we at least took the afternoon off after doing the lunchtime wedding thing. My wide is able to laugh as she recalls me and our marrying justice engage in a who's going to win the SMU/Texas game (it was 1983...ah, the good old days).
I married a keeper 2nd time around. She's fully supportive and now that I've got "all access", she knows she has more time to herself this year. After 22 yrs together, I know she enjoys getting a break now and then. She's also learned to take advantage of those good mood days after a Mustang victory. Those days tend to be big shopping days / nice dinners out

Yes, Ikus, I take responsibility for that one, but none of the other stuff. I was hoping he'd take some interest in my interests, but he didn't. C'est la vie.

Apparently there is not another flight that gets in earlier. If I can wrap things up by 10am on Friday I can get back by Friday evening. I giving it my best shot. I was thinking that maybe if I tip the pilot $20 he can fly faster for me.

Got married in early July and avoided all this nonsense, but daughter came home last October and announced that she was getting married in one week and we had to throw together a wedding for her. Good news was it didn't cost much. Bad news was it was during football season and she had the bad taste to marry... a Cowboy fan of all things. A Cowboy fan who grew up in DC, there's just no excuse for that.

Also, it's Kids' Day. ALL KIDS GET FREE TICKETS (13 and under)!!! Adult tickets are just $5 for the game!
Get your family and friends to Ford this Saturday! There's no reason why we shouldn't have a great showing from the Mustang Nation against ECU!
I'm now bringing 3 guests!
Attendance prediction: 22,000

There are more people in the two locker rooms at halftime than are in the stands.
I think the university needs to require students to attend at least 3 games every year.

What a pathetic display today by the student body section. Non-existent.
My stepdaughter called from Lubbock to speak to my wife on her cell phone during the today's game and asked, "Where are you?" My wife answered, "At the SMU game." Dead silence on the other end of the phone. My stepdaughter thought we were at home it was so quiet.
