You officially are swimming past the buoys with this one. Willis fumbled because he wasn't taking care of the ball, not because they were stripping it from his fingers. That wasn't physically weak, it's a lack of experience thinking that his O-line was more adept at pass blocking than they were. Although if Viloria can create another Jamarcus Russell, I'm okay with it. He is a MAN.
i think all of you are really misinterpreting what Stallion was really trying to say with his initial comments on Vic, Willi,s & Russell. Fumbling for the most part does not have to do with a persons physical strength (look a bettis against the colts, and one of the most nortorious "big man" fumblers Mike Alstott); however, smaller guys for the most part don't deal as well with taking big hits which can lead to fumbles. We all know tiki changed his approach to carrying the ball, which dramatically cut down on how much he fumbled. But strength and size do play a role in what kind of hits a body can take and still hold on to the ball. Justin had a huge problem this year holding on to the ball, you can say it was a number of things (inexperience, lack of concentration, size, strength, etc.), but what I think Stallion is trying to say here is no matter how great of a stregth trainer Vic is (or how much Russell liked him), Justin will never be Russell. They are two completely different QB's. JWill is a good young QB, but he is not built like Russell and to say we want Vic to make him into Russell is just ignorant. I'm sure the coaches will be all over Justin this off season making sure he concentrates more on protecting the ball more efficiently when he is running, and teaching him what a slide is...

I've heard that the new "spinach and neck rings" program has already put 3 more inches of height on Willis. By August he should be 6-5.

Personally I thought he was just pointing out that Willis was not a top five nationaly recruited QB which no matter how good he is, no matter how great he may get, and no matter how many fewer times he may fumble, he will never be a top nationally recruited QB.

If ya'll re-read my post, I was replying to Stallion with just a bit of sarcasm! Willis needs to work on ball control and I am sure he is, plus with the rehab work on his injured hand I'm sure he'll be stronger as well as more cognizant of protecting the ball.

Isn't all this "I know Jamarcus Russell, Jamarcus Russell was a friend of mine, and Justin Willis is no Jamarcus Russell" talk a little off topic? It is so nice to have guys bash one of our top players on a strength and conditioning thread.
Beef 'em up, Vic. Glad you are back.

Exactly what I was thinking. Seems like some on here can't stand to hear that something good is going on in the program. Keep it up Vic!!!
