[quote="SmuSaw31"]How will we pay the other coaches? Hell no. Let the old ball coach stay put. He would not make it 15 minutes in Texas. Plus he is not a players coach. We need someone that will bring in some swagger. Local media would have a field day with the old ball coach.[/quote

bigdaddy I hate to say it but if you really believe the the old ball coach would not be able to handle himself, and that he has no swagger your just stupid.

I may be stupid, but let me point out something to you that obviously you don't understand newbie. The old ball coach coaches in the heart of the Delta, and previously at Florida (last college job I think). The recruiting process at these schools work by themselves, athletes just walk off the street to these schools. The old ball coach may have to actually go into the homes of the HS athletes and recruit players. He is an [deleted], and everyone in college football knows that. Texans hate [deleted], because they think everyone should kiss their [deleted]. The old ball coach aint kissing [deleted]. This board will rip his [deleted] if he wins or not. Another example, Mike Leach at TT. Lubbock cannot stand this man. The first losing season and he is gone. The old ball coach is not the fit for SMU. We need someone with Texas ties, understands Texas. All our players are from Texas.

I love your thinking. The best college football coach going. He is pure greatness.

Les Miles might respectfully disagree.

It's my hope that someday Les Miles actually will talk in complete sentences.

Not true. My wife's family is from the Panhandle and close to the TT program. Generally Leach is very well liked. They hate his defenses but like him personally and as a coach. They understand it's tough to recruit to Lubbock.

He probably needs a new DC. I wonder who might be available?

I am from Plainview, Tx and TT is not a tough place to recruit, obviously by the talent. No academic crap at TT. Don't want to argue with you, but your information is wrong. Maybe I should have said the decision makers don't like him. As long as he wins the fans love him and nothing can be said. He is a yankee living in Tx? First losing season and he is gone.
