I was a little concerned about what was going on there.

If it really happens tomorrow then this is the best kept secret since Deep Throat during the Watergate scandal.
Since when did you care about what the DMN had to say about SMU?

You're right...the Bevo Corp. did surprise me with their front page coverage of aTm's new hire, though...it's not that I care...I'm just hoping to be "pleasantly surprised" that they'll actually cover SMU in some capacity other than talking about the Bush Library or the Meadows Museum.

he mentioned SMU in his speech? what did he say?
He said that when he first came into the Arkansas job all he wanted to was beat SMU.
Does anyone else but me think that this is a slap in the face at SMU? It seems like Nutt is saying that the only thing Arkansas fans used to care about was beating a losing team that always managed to sneak in a win against Arkansas. Now the expectations are considerably higher since the expectations were so low when he first arrived.
Having said that, I would be happy with Nutt at SMU.

No, it just means that we kicked their @$$3$ three years in a row in what was supposed to be a token September win/Dallas recruiting extravaganza. The early season disappointment was fresh in their minds, derailing their national hopes. I believe he remedied that the next year.

Don't be surprised if the new coach is not announced today. There is a chance that this team meeting may be to update them on the process and talk about the off season. I don't know anything but this is a just another thought.

Nothing going on in Dallas sports wise, also no NCAA football tonight. This could be the day.

If the comments about Petersen are true, why hasn't SMU at least called his agent?

Why would he come here? He is looking for a BCS job - not another job like he already has.

1. You don't know until you ask.
2. Money - What SMU is projected to offer will be around 2X to 3X what BSU currently pays him.

Don't expect an announcement today. I don't think we hear anything until next week.

Peterson's base salary (not including any TV or shoe deals) was $850,000 this year. We're offering $1.2 that's not quite 1.5x and no where close to 2x or 3x. [/quote]
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally
