If SMU's offer to JJ is what it is rumored to be, there is no way that Hawaii matches that.

What I meant was, if SO convinced JJ to take the job........June would have to be sold the playing field would be leveled enough, for him to succeed.

I didnt say they would match. they don't need to match. They just need to do enough to keep him.

Let's hope JJ would wear something better looking than the "all black" outfit that he has on for his pre-game speach...............

Not only that, but it is a signal to everyone from the latest 2 star recruit to the rest of Div1 football that SMU is adopting the Stallion Model.
I mean, if you convince the most ardent of your critics to come aboard, you are certainly telegraphing change.

My apologies if this has already been posted and discussed. (I searched the board and couldn't find any mention of it) Two days ago the Sporting News reported that Orsini was talking to Jones agent and that any announcement would come after the Sugar Bowl.

Not sure there's anything terribly new in this story, but I did find it interesting that an outfit like the Sporting News was giving the idea of Jones to SMU some credibility.

jones refers to opener at Florida next year, sounds like a guy looking forward to some extent. And he likes to wear the lei and say mahalo. Doesnt sound like a guy that would leave the islands for the Bubble.

If I was a UH fan I would be assuming the worst.
It would seem the perfect time to leave UH for JJ becasue he has worked a miracle and I don't think that he believes that UH can maintain it.
SMU, however, is a chance to work a miracle again. And on the mainland!

So far, JJ's team looks like it was 12-0 due to being in a weak [deleted] conference..........
