I have to agree with you and Blog. While I certainly agree with not jumping the gun, the argument made by others only makes sense if you are waiting for a better alternative. SMU is choosing to pass on some of the best looking girls (Barnett, Fran, Bowden, Neuheisel, etc.) and waiting on semi-attractive/average-looking girls that don't necessarily make sense for SMU or have boyfriends they probably don't want to leave to join us (Kragthorpe, PJ, JJ, etc.) With all things being equal, I think the former are much more attractive options than the latter. Now consider that the former are single and ready to mingle and the latter are taken and not all that great and it is a no brainer. I guess SMU just enjoys the thrill of the chase.

My wife asks the same thing about my toy trains. They just go around in a circle. To which I respond, except if they're in the yard or if I start throwing switches.

Since we are making first posts here, let me throw my hat in the ring. For purely personal reasons(that I will get into in future posts) I would love to see JJ on The Hilltop. I do however, feel that Fran is a better fit. All that being said, I dont care if we lure Jerry B. away from the Linden Kildare Tigers, just as long as we get someone in place before we have to compete with Cisco Jr. College for what is left in the recruiting market.
