I agree, these were the best. Lets bring back these unis and KEEP IT THAT WAY!!!
I don't like the helmet stripes in that look. I prefer them closer together (no space between each one)

The stripes on the helmet should match the pants.

I like the spaced out stripes much much better. A la Auburn & Miami Dolphins. It would look good without stripes too.

Blue jersey, gray pants, red helmet, white pony.
Mac White, where are you?
(Seriously, I've been trying to locate him.)

I like the design of our jerseys now, but not the colors. Lighten up the blue and darken the red. Also, I propose a weekend where we wear throwbacks, kind of like how the Golden State Warriors or Philly Sixers do it for some games. They would have to be the old style fit too, baggy sleeves with the big hole mesh. We could call it the "Mustang Heritage" weekend or something.

What SMU needs to do is pick a good uniform and KEEP IT. The best uniforms are the classic ones -- Penn St., Notre Dame, Alabama, etc. -- and they are classic first because they look good (solid, simple designs, no clashing colors, simple logo or no logo at all) and second because they DO NOT CHANGE every 3 years. I personally prefer the PE white helmet, red mustang, blue jersey, white pants version but am also partial to the old red helmet with the white mustang.

I think they are a little too candy apple for my taste. I like the more crimson look. And it was mentioned earlier that Yale Blue isn't one of our colors. When I went through orientation in 93, they told us it was.

I'm a white helmet, blue jersey guy, but if we use red this should be the look and shade:

Red jersey instead of blue with the ShanDerrick picture style from 2001 season would also look really good too.
