JJ didnt bench JW for skipping class.
Ive got nothing against JW but if his ego is the problem, its sad. When JJ became coach, no one had a starting job. it all had to be earned in the spring and in the fall.
JW didnt work hard enough to win the job. Past mistakes and just not being the right style of QB for the offense did him in

In JJ's mind if someone can earn the job can someone lose it or is it forever? I can't believe any other coach in the country would start BL this weekend. 8 ints against d-1 schools and he still starts. This is getting a little odd. The TCU D is usually weak against the pass so maybe this will work out.

Skipping class and missing team meetings is what led to JW's suspension. His suspension meant he missed spring practice. Missing spring practice meant he didn't pick up the system as we had hoped. Is that Coach Jones' fault? Really?

Yea, and BLM has been stellar in picking up JJ's "system." Well, I must say he has a good completion rate, if you count that passes to other teams!

I said given all that, he would still be where he is today. It's about knowledge and execution of JJ's system. this year and the years to come. Unless the NCAA changes the rules, JW's gone after next year.
Willis: one year to learn new Offense + one year to operate it at full capacity
BLM: one year to learn new Offense + 2-3 years to operate it at full capacity
It's kind of a simple equation. It should probably terrify us to think of JW running this offense.
Go RED! Go BLUE! Go MUSTANGS! S-M-U!!

Yes, he beat Texas St. but 8 interceptions against Rice and Tech? Give me a break....as I said all along he should have been red shirted, now he is ruined...
Revamp and start Willis....
Go Ponies!!!!!!!!!!!

Told ya.
from the Dallas Morning News:
UNIVERSITY PARK – Despite throwing five interceptions Saturday in a loss at Texas Tech, freshman quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell will start again Saturday against TCU, coach June Jones said Monday.
Freshman backup Logan Turner of Springtown replaced Mitchell in the second half, but Jones said there is no quarterback controversy on the Hilltop.
"He has to learn how to play the game, and he's not going to learn standing over there by me," Jones said of Mitchell. "Every quarterback who has ever played has had one of those days. "

One of the only boards that gladly accepts having a unprepared freshman QB stuffed down their throats (during a self imposed throw away season) in hopes that he will suddenly develop arm strength and accuracy NEXT SEASON. disclaimer: I know we don't have a high level of talent on our roster right now but that is no excuse for not putting the best we have on the field right now in our BEST effort to win games This season. We as paying fans deserve to know that we are getting the best possible product on the field ( the during the dates listed on our tickets and not next year) Win or Lose.
You are correct sir
Also, why wasn't BLM redshirted this year? Use Willis or your next
most talented experienced QB this year. Let BLM learn a little, and
become adjusted to college life, and football. Then you have him for
4 great years, and there's less risk you'll destroy his athletic
confidence, or lose him academically.
Question? Was Mike Ford a redshirt freshman, or was he that good
right out of the box?

Ford was a true freshman-he was also the No. 1 QB on Dave Campbell's Super Team High School All-Star Team. SMU had no returning QB with any experience unlike this year. Ford threw plenty of Interceptions.

UNBELEIVABLE!!!!!! START TURNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE STANDS BY YOU THE ENTIRE GAME AND THEN IS THE MOST PRODUCTIVE. What do you think he could do if he was actually in the game?
If it ain't football, it ain't a sport!
