I asked this question on another thread before reading this one.

Why didn't JWill transfer to another program were he could have continued as QB?

btw...I wish him all the best

im not bigdaddy but the best answer to this question would be this question...

would you rather get your degree from SMU or a small, maybe unknown FCS like Sam Houston or Texas State?

Understood, but most players select football over academics. Look how many players have transferred from SMU over the past few years to further their football careers. None of them came close to what JWill has accomplished.

Also, I love when people point out the names of a couple guys in the NFL that are the same size as guys on our team. A couple nfl guys? Yea exactly. A few people out of the thousands of undersized guys in all of college football have made the transition to the next level. That's not going to be JW. You don't know anything about anything.

Are you the Beard kid. If you are JWill apologized for that one. He graduates in June of 09. Four years and one month of college with a degree. Hey, and D1 coaches lie all the time. His guy was in place before he ever met JWill. See you are still talking about the QB situation. Get over it, JWill has. Move on, BLM is our QB of the future. Now just put your best players on the field around him.

JJ lied! JWill will graduate in June 09. JJ lied about the QB competition. JJ lied about the revelation he had after his car crash. He stated that he was going to do everything he could to improve the lives of young people, liar! JJ has his staff doing class checks on JWill when he has no intention on playing JWill at any position. Whats up with that?

Can we get a ban for slandering the head coach's personal life?

The comments made on this board about JWills personal life, and you should ban me? Everybody should be banned if slander is the issue. I am just stating facts about what has taken place. JWill has moved on from the QB situation. He is not bitter, he wants to get better, doing what he can to help this team win. How many of you would not play him somewhere. Face it people, we are bad and JWill is good. Put him on the field?

Agree with you that JWill needs to be on field. I personally believe he should have been the QB, and JJ should have loosened the reins on his offense to allow it.

However, I fail to see the lie. You may know something I don't, but the way I see it, it wasn't a lie. It's the way it fell. I don't agree, but it didn't look like a lie. I dunno. I'd like to hear an allegation with specifics and not based on circumstantial evidence...at least in this case.

I'm glad he's graduating. THAT is the most important thing for him.

JW's spring suspension wasn't about grades, it was about missing study hall that JW claims he didn't know was mandatory, thus he missed spring practice. But according to JJ himself, "JW did everything that was asked of him to get back on the team," and you have to commend him for that. ANd if you don't believe that, figure out where Mapps and Hydman are(?), they were in the same circumstances but didn't make it back.

Anyone who doubts that JW isn't a good teammate and wants what is best for the team just watch the sidelines, JW and Sanders were the ONLY players to approach BLM and encourage him after the second INT versus TCU, even JJ avoided BLM!

I was pretty tired of JW's behavior on the sidelines last year and then working his way out of spring practice...However, the young man has really grown up and demonstrated that he maybe one of the few leaders on the team. "Congradulations to JW!" This year's experience may contribute more to his future than any year he has started as a quarterback.

Regarding BLM, I don't know what I would recommend. It doesn't seem to me he has made any progress from the Rice game. I hope I am wrong, but as a "bleacher bum" I haven't see it. After four games, he just hasn't grown, and this bothers me. If I don't see it, either do his teammates. Do you bench him now and let him try again in the spring and then bring in JW? or another qb? Do you keep throwing BLM into a situation he doesn't seem ready for or replace him? What is the best for his long-term attitude and progress? More importantly, what is best for the rest of the team?

so, if BLM continues to play like this (poorly) for the rest of the season - should we expect to see Padron or another true freshman next year to try to build him up or would JJ be inclined to run BLM out there hoping that a year of experience would make him that much better?

If BLM is going to continue to be crappy I feel like we might as well just throw someone else in there. Try with another true freshman next year if everyone sucks.

Well, that is why JJ is getting the big bucks, he had got to figure this out. But, some people are "game" players and some only "practice players".

Duke Blue Blood wrote:The problem is that you HAVE a proven QB, probably one of the few positions we don't need immediate rebuilding (Sanders and Morestead) and you throw BLM out there to further drive us into the ground? If he is the better QB, then great, play him, but he is CLEARLY not. A good leader knows when he is wrong and let me tell you, JJ is one stubborn SOB.

This is just JJ's first year, so no big deal to him. For the rest of us, this is year 21 of rebuilding. STOP using the rebuilding as an excuse. TONS of programs bring in a good coach and show immediate improvement.

DBB

What an idiotic post.
