Who Replaces The Great Craig Swann?Moderators: PonyPride, SmooPower How about my neighbor Matt Mosley from ESPN? I know he is a Baylor grad but a he loves college ball that much.
I didn't think anyone could come up with worse ideas than Greg Williams or Chris Arnold, but congratulations  you did.
Mosley actually would be great, but he travels to NFL games on Saturdays  wouldn't work (and he undoubtedly would cost more than SMU would pay). What's Adrian Haywood doing these days? He was always a really funny interview. Him or PonyPride. Rise up, Mustang Nation!
Go SMU!
I like your idea better. "W" knows his sports!
How bout bringing Dandy Don out of retirement..
What we obtain too cheap.. we esteem too lightly. It is persistence alone that gives everything its value.
The whole idea of building Ford Stadium and hiring a marquee coach like June Jones is to get people to STOP laughing at SMU. Rich Phillips and PonyPride would be great.
I've heard through channels Hampton isn't coming back at all. I find it hard to believe that it's taking this long to organize the broadcast crew.
When the 2009 football media guides come out. I assume they've got to be close to being printed, there's a page devoted to the crew. I guess we'll know then.
Re: Who Replaces The Great Craig Swann?

On a football-related topic, does anyone know who's replacing Swanny on the radio broadcasts? Perhaps Hampton moves up to the booth? Coach Jones' friend Gary Cogill? Anyone else have ideas or a "wish list"?
I honestly didn't know that Swann was leaving the booth. What's the backstory here?
anyone?
wanted to spend more time w/ family
They just had their third child, a little girl. In his interview he said he wanted to spend his Saturday's watching his kids play sports and nothing was worth missing that.
as long as its not another pseudo SMU great from the modern era of losing I'll be happy.
Swann was first-team ALL-SWC, one of less than a handful after the death penalty on the defense including Chirs Bordano and Chad Patton, those three guys could have played on any SMU team. That's like calling Don Meredith a pseudo-NFL great just because he played on some horrible Cowboy teams. It's amazing you can trash guys like Swann and others who gave everything they had on Saturdays regardless of the score and managed to be All-SWC, which means alot more than all-WAC or All-CUSA. Of course, I am sure you were all-Pop Warner and the trophy sits on your mantle. Stallion- everyone knows you hate Rossley, and to think we have been trying for over 10 years now to get to where Rossley left the program and handed Cavan his first winning season, first bowl game if Rossley had been there in 1997.
