I suspect there is some big amount of money involved here somewhere. If I recall correctly, Madeleine Pickens is a driving force behind saving mustangs and appears to be using this deal to push her agenda. I'm all for saving the mustangs, but don't go trampling on 80 years of our traditions to do it. First the school colors and now our mascot. What's left...our band? Will we put them in faux military uniforms with faux school color plumes on their hats? I'm really tired of all this gimmicky crap. Invest time and energy in the team and win some fricken games already and leave our traditions alone.

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Since he donated the horse, maybe he'll come to a few games to see the stupid thing, and maybe cut us a check somewhere down the road. It would be dumb to think that he would dontate anything close to what he has at OSU, but any amount would help. Having Roger Staubach on board doesn't hurt either.

well we call Texas Longhorns "Cows" and Texas Tech "Sand Aggies" and Aggies-Milkmen and Goat-humpers and well Aggies. I'm sure they don't cry wet tears because they were called a name.

agreed, it does not need a rider . . . we are not TT.

I agree with having a real Mustang and I agree that it does not need a rider.

If you have a what you would consider a "real" mustang, then you won't be able to control it, and it will hurt someone. What we will have is a horse with a broken spirit.
The donkey's name is Kiki.

On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?

Here is the website. The foundations goal is to keep them wild? Because if that is the case this is about as far from that as possible! How are they going to keep it from freaking out when the announcer and band are loud. Or when the opposing teams fans are cheering because BLM threw a pick-6!!!!!!

The references to BLM (U.S. Bureau of Land Management) are messing with my head.

I've figured it out-nobody has posted on any other topic since the News-the idea is to distract SMU Fans(especially you expony18) from BLM so his ulcer can heal.

Can we name the new mascot Kiki after your donkey?

Why should the horse be any different than the rest of us?
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
