Nevertheless, you don't understand football as much as you think you do. And Japan pretty much got it handed to it by the U.S. beginning with the Battle of Midway.

Exactly how many battles did Japan win against the U.S. Give them credit for being stubborn and sticking it out. But where did it get them? A big fat L.

And your boy Yamamoto was shot down. He also knew his country screwed up when they bombed Pearl Harbor.

I have only claimed that defeat is not acceptable. If that means I know little about football, then carry on your celebration of this team's loss without me.

You changed this post after I had already responded. Clever, but I will still respond.

I have consulted the greatest Japanese textbooks and would like to inform you that you are currently under the Empire's rule and should be respectful.

I have never claimed to be General Isoroku Yamamoto, and while I mourn his death it is not my own, such as your very namesake links you to the death of General Patton.

Victory and defeat. I know which is to be celebrated and which is to be mourned. Unlike you, I will not celebrate this day in the same way that the real General Patton would not.

I have no idea what you're talking about since I am not celebrating a close loss.

The premise of this thread was to talk about how good of a college football game it was I just watched. It just happened to be SMU and Navy. Switch them out for Baylor and Army or for two other teams and watch the same kind of game, you would have walked away from it saying you just watched a good college football game. That's all I was trying to write.

Basically, it was like watching Miami-Florida State at the beginning of the game. That was a very good college football game to watch.

Some are WAAAAAAY overthinking this.

But you are not a third party, and the fact that you claim it was "fun" is a statement you made as an SMU fan posting on an SMU board. You cannot change that you went to the game cheering for SMU, and that even though SMU collapsed you thought it was fun. You even claim that it was one of the best game's you have seen at Ford. That was not a statement that claims that the game would appeal to third parties, but that you found it personally satisfying. I, sir, did not find it to be so.

And lost. Unless you choose to continue, in which case you admit that you are arguing with someone you do not believe you are worthy of arguing with. But if you desist, you give the appearance of defeat. Either way, you will bring shame upon yourself.

This thread is pretty funny. That said, from a purely excitement standpoint, it was an exciting game. With Margus Hunt now in the line-up no field goal is a gimme anymore for anyone. So, I still had some hope even at that end. But when it went through the uprights, I was saddened and could not find a hari kari sword handy. I guess Samurai took it.
