Regardless of a recruit's personal feelings about the uniform, it's the fact that NIKE is creating 10 special uniforms out of 119 schools and TCU happens to be one of them. The perception of being "elite" often goes further than actually having substance, which TCU has done a solid job of gaining in the last 10 years.
Remember, boys ages 16-18 are highly impressionable and will date the ugly girl if the rumor's true that she'll never say no. Their priorities are different than yours.

I wonder how quickly those unis will be pitched if they lose Saturday???????
I just don't get schools that incorporate primary colors into their uniforms that are not school colors. TCU's colors are purple and white and yet black is one of 2 dominant colors. Now new helmuts that have orange/red and grey/black color schemes and grey/black pants??????? WTF???? I certainly hope we don't go down that path.................

The uniforms will only be used once, this Saturday. Nike foot the bill 100% ($300,000).

personally, i think those pants are god awful...TEXAS HORNED LIZARD skin? but i am not a 17 yr old high school fb player.
Fixed it. I think it is just for this game. Utah has a new uni also by Under Armour. NIKE and Under Armour chose this game to unveil them. After the game we go back to the traditional [deleted] kicking unis we've had for the last 15 years or so. Personally, if you are going to do this for one game with the NIKE hype, why not make it as outrageous as possible. I hear tOSU unveils theirs this weekend as well but chose a retro theme simial to UT and OU later this year.

I WOULD LOVE TO SEE WHERE YOU GOT THI COST OF $300,000 from.... i know for a fact that tulsa's pee uniforms only cost $22,000. i know you don't believe those jerseys, cleats, gloves, etc. cost an extra $278,000 to produce?! nike is always coming up with new prototypes, so the increased cost would not be factored into this innovation

We are not Tulsa.
Innovation. Marketing. Product development.
Helmet, Shoes, Gloves, Jersey, Pants, Underwear, Undershirt, Padding, Shells, and Pads.
It all adds up, my friend!

nike doesnt make football pads... still doesnt come out to $300,000 anyway you slice it. not for one game, unless each player is wearing a new shoe and new glove every down. friend

Those Uniforms are perfect for the Horny Toads! They look like vomit ... except for the gloves. Those are pretty cool! TCU has made a poor decision in their big momeny. ESPN GameDay comes to town and you break out these awful uniforms.... poor planning IMHO
