The SMU v UTEP game ticket has become a collector's item in more ways than one! :) Hmmm....can anyone say 'ebay'? ;)

Excuse me! This is football not Socialism. Padron starts. Mitchell sits. This idea would be absolutely catastrophic. But then again, why don't you go ask the coach to do this. He's only being paid $2 million per season so he can experiment rather than choose the players who give SMU the best chance to win.

In fact, why don't we Smith, see if we can get McDermott's redshirt off and see if Steven Kaiser can get down here in time for the Tulane game. Just a ridiculous comment.

The Quarterback shuffle never works. Ask Tulsa.

You pick a QB and you go with him until you've seen enough.

We have all seen enough of BLM to last a lifetime. He has started his last game as QB at SMU.

Way to go George! Let June Jones do the coaching.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then, but the general's right. We are one away from bowl eligibility (and a bowl according to some). You go with your best player at the position. If you watched Padron at all through the three games he's played in, you know there is no debate he is the best player we've seen this year at QB...
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

Can we start the "What would our record be if Padron had started all 9 games??" thread?

I think it would be worse than our current record. As a true freshman he needed practice time to learn. That's why BM was started and not Padron.

Don't you ever, ever define me as to what kind of SMU fan you think I am. I get livid with people on this board when they start rolling out the definitions of fans or pull the usual card of "I'm a better fan than you are because I did this and you didn't.''

And as far as the MILITANT SUNSHINERS are on this board -- how'd you like being defined? -- if you're not 100% behind Jones, then you're made out to be a pariah. To hell with that. I'll be thankful if he turns it around, I'm not a fan of this offense (but the commitment to run the ball with a pretty good back is making it tolerable), and some of you missed the point about him pulling the wool over people's eyes.

He knows exactly what he's doing. He has a history of manipulating the media and doing that kind of thing. Personally, I don't care. What you guys get ruffled at is that I'm suggesting is that he's not telling you suckups the entire story. Here's a little news -- he shouldn't. He'll tell you what you need to know.

Hey folks, it's OK to have a different opinion than the one you want to jam down our collective throats.

couch 'em wrote:Jones is going to say BLM is a game-time decision through the rest of the season. That way, if Padron tanks, he can send in BLM and it'll be 'bringing in the injured starter back in' and not 'benching the starter Padron'. Jones hates benching QBs.

Padron will be named the starter next year.

This is my feeling as well....Padron will start the rest of the year, with Bo being still a bit too "injured" to start but "getting closer" each week...then if Padron stinks it up or gets hurt Bo can trot in. Sad thing is, I think Bo would have been a much better QB if he had some of the same pressure, he never had fear of being benched after making boneheaded plays and that hurt his development, in my opinion.

Figure if Padron finishes strong, then the job next year is his to lose, but I still see June giving them each a fair shake in Spring Ball to determine next year's starter.

Good competition at every position is what we must have to get better. Having said that, Padron has shown himself to be the better quarterback imo..............

Exactly..... Competition is a GOOD thing. June's goal at the start of the season was to get to 6 wins and become bowl eligible. It seems at this point in the season that Padron gives him the best opportunity to accomplish that. You hate to see a QB lose his job to injury (although other factors from the past 17 games could be factoring into that as well) but this team should be so lucky to have such a capable, experienced backup.

BLM was going to get replaced even without the injury. Don't mean to cap on him, but Padron is better. ASU just repaced the QB. The kid was crying, former QB. I am sure it hurts. The best QB needs to start. Part of life.
