I always pull for SMU when they are not playing the Frogs. I happen to believe there is a big difference in the rivalries of the big public schools and the small private ones. I like to think our rivalry is more like Harvard/Yale, its fun for us- without all those GED havin T-shirt fans mucking up the enjoyment. I don't believe either university will ever have the fan support of a UT, I mean, they graduate more in 2 years than we have in living alumni. It is what it is, and i am all for SMU winning, except when they play the Frogs. Some of you may not buy into that, want it to be like a Ohio State- Michigan or something. I say let it be what it is- something that is great for us, but not a huge national stage game. It could be better, which is why I like what SMU is doing this year. So kick the crap out of UT-Mexico, and we'll try to do the same to Utah. And hope we are both undefeated when we meet next year.

Go Frogs. Why would anyone pull for Utah?

Well, the first reason is Utah isn't Froggy High, upon which I wish perpetual failure in everything. It's nothing against DeepEllumFrog and ReedFrawg and the rest of the TCU types who come on here and represent themselves and their school with class and valuable discussion. I just don't like the Frogs, and can't bring myself to root for them. Some of the Froggy faithful who come on here are actually some of the best posters we have, and for that - kudos. But once the game/match starts, sorry - can't do it.

It's like when I visited Washington, and I saw a Redskins fan (I assume) wearing a t-shirt that read: "the two most important teams are the Redskins and whoever is playing Dallas."

That's how I feel about Froggy High in everything. I don't care if they're playing DeVry in an exhibition Chutes & Ladders match, I always root against the damned Frogs, and always will. Those ridiculous new uniforms they're breaking out this week just add to it.

While we're at it, I'm hoping someone knocks off UT, too. I don't like A&M, but it would be particularly enjoyable if the Aggies stuck it to the stupid Cows.

You people rooting for them are nuts. Their success only helps them improve recruiting which doesn't help our cause. We are in the same metroplex but this is not a partnership.

Seems a tad harsh. I thought your defense was completely classless this year with all the head shots... And loved it. Made it nasty and fun. Our players and fans are definitely tuned into next year's rematch. Haven't checked your OOC yet but hope you are undefeated when we meet. Do you think you'll get 20k in the stands assuming we bring 10k?

Having played against them for 5 years and seen them play cheap shot, late hit, taunting football ever since ... I don't think it harsh at all. As to the "head shots" I am not sure what you are talking about, but I can assure you TCwho has done much worse over span of time I have been involved in this rivalry. While the toads have a great team (no doubting that) this season and them winning helps our SOS, I can never route for them. Just like when they played TECH a few years back (another program lacking in class) I was hoping it would end in a 2-2 tie, be dubbed the most boring game ever and somehow both teams kicked out of the NCAA!!!

Hope TCU win and gets a hot at the national title. TCU is a rivalry, not the enemy. The NCAA and the BSC are the enemy.

I would love to see us play TCU with both schools being in the top 10 and the winner going to a BCS bowl/national championship! Having both teams be great only helps enhance our rivalry and as a result SMU!!!

I really think that it is good for all Texas teams for Texas to be thought of as the best Football state. In the 1990s Florida got that reputation and it helped all Florida teams compete for National Championships. During that period it was very uncool to stay in Texas and Texas football suffered. I think that perception is changing-if we can have 3 Texas teams win Conference Championships and have 3 maybe even in the Top 10 then that will help the trend grow. If Texas kids stay home because its cool to play in Texas and its thought of as the home of the best football players then a rising tide will raise all boats and the games will get bigger and more nationally prominent for all of us-I truly think this to be the case.
