Stallion wrote:good to see the SMU Chearleadering and Booster Club Squad take their usual principled strong stance in favor of SMU tradition for good ole trust fund babies Cowpoke and Maybell. The only thing June Jones had to change around here was the recent tradition of trying to play Division 1A football under Ivy League Guidelines. He did and he won with those players playing essential roles. Did you ever see one of these Yell-Leaders ever take a stand on Ponyfans on one of those issues; No because they were too busy bending over grabbing their ankles and spouting the SMU Cheerleading and Booster Club Motto-suck up to get a good seat at the Mustang Club Rally and you might get elected Seargent of Arms one day.
Without the Mustang Club, I'm not sure if SMU could have stayed afloat, until these recent and necessary changes were made. For some reason, it sure bothers you that SMU has fans that care enough about this program, to get together and "backslap" and enjoy a fun event. That place was filled with partners of the biggest law firms in Dallas, some of the most successful and influential business men and women in the area, but, you can call them "suck ups" all you want, it's just your way of trying to rationalize why you don't go. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to encourage you to attend these functions, but, I bet it's a lot more fun, being in a room full of SMU fans celebrating this past seasons success, than sitting by yourself, complaining on your computer, with a scowl on your face. After all, isn't this supposed to be about fun, and entertainment? Pony Up!

I have no problem with any one going to Mustang Club events-I have a problem with people spouting the company line without any backbone or integrity- and never publicly disagreeing with what they are told to think whether it be Ken Pye destroying the football program or deemphasizing Peruna for two trust fund babies Cowpoke and Maybell.

Can't remember but you have to recite it as if you are a robot -- the voice of Robot in Lost in Space.

In truth, I only pointed out that your undying love for the band and peruna works its way into all threads, just as it did this one. Apparently, all who do not support her own cause to only speak about peruna and the band must be against them.

I can take the new "mustangs" or leave the new "mustangs"...really doesn't matter to me. Peruna is still the mascot, so that's cool, too.
I do want to say one thing, though, related to this thread: I'm glad we have fans and supporters like Alex Lifeson. If I lived in Dallas, I would be at every Mustang Club function I could attend and do what I could to support SMU Athletics. He's a great Mustang. Go Ponies!

Much ado about nothing..wow. Mustang Club events are a good time. Stallion is a grump. I'm sure all this energy can be spent on better things.
GO SMU!
