SMU ANNOUNCES NEW PRIORITY SEATING & PARKING PLANSModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: SMU ANNOUNCES NEW PRIORITY SEATING & PARKING PLANSI do not think it is too much to ask that if you want to be in the best seats in Ford (204 and 104) , with the team on a rise, you contribute to the MC club at the Perura level. The bottom line is that the athletic program needs $$$ and this is a fair way to get some. I agree with Mestengo, they need to police who sits in these seats if they are going to go for a premium.
Re: SMU ANNOUNCES NEW PRIORITY SEATING & PARKING PLANSIf each person who makes a donation in order to buy their tickets DEMANDS more 'yellow shirts' who will police the sections, it most likely will reach the ears of the folks in charge.
Re: SMU ANNOUNCES NEW PRIORITY SEATING & PARKING PLANSUmmm $1000.00 I dont want anyone touching mine
![]() And Mr Mustang they read this board all of them.
Re: SMU ANNOUNCES NEW PRIORITY SEATING & PARKING PLANSI was starting to worry that we wouldn't have something to b!tc4 about. now i know we'll be okay until next year.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally
Re: SMU ANNOUNCES NEW PRIORITY SEATING & PARKING PLANS
I could say something about this topic that would really start off a p***ing match...but I won't.
Re: SMU ANNOUNCES NEW PRIORITY SEATING & PARKING PLANS
How about, thank god the basketball team sucks! ![]()
Re: SMU ANNOUNCES NEW PRIORITY SEATING & PARKING PLANSI understand charging new people..... but anone who had seatsa already should be grandfathered in.
If you watched all these seasonsd of horrible horrible football from the 50 yard line, you shouldn't have to drop $1k to keep it! "I think Couchem is right."

Re: SMU ANNOUNCES NEW PRIORITY SEATING & PARKING PLANSIt's likely not the best timing, given the economy. However, it is the right time if they think they are going to get more interest after a good year and a program on the rise (we all hope).
I'm in 105 and have been surprised at how little they ask for me to donate ($120). I look at it that I got a good price for the last 8 seasons, and now it's catching up to me because I'll have to donate $500. I can afford it, and probably should have been donating that much all along. Oh well. For those who can't swing it, buy the seats that don't require a donation, then find an empty seat closer in. I honestly don't care if people move over in to our section, I'd just be happy to see a full stadium. I hope for the day that our section is full of season ticketholders are all paying the required donation. That will mean that our team is doing well, and frankly, it'll be worth it. I've paid more for season tickets to the Stars & Rangers in the past, and I didn't care about those teams nearly as much as I care for our Mustangs. Granted, we haven't had an immense amount to cheer for in the last few years, but last year made it all worth it. Maybe they should have gradually moved to this, but they didn't. Oh well.
Re: SMU ANNOUNCES NEW PRIORITY SEATING & PARKING PLANSI have two seats in 103 and have donated $500 to the Mustang club each year. I have also parked in the Westcott parking lot. Under the new plan my donation will remain the same, but my parking will have to move to Dedman - not as good, but OK.
Sharing the donation is a way for those who can not afford the full donation to get good seats. Of course they don't get the tax deduction or the priority points, but they could get good seats for less money. For example, since I can buy up to four tickets with my $500 donation and only need two, if I find someone who wants to sit in 103, but can't afford the $500 they could buy their tickets through me. So what happens in a couple of years when the required donation for 103 goes to $1,000 and I need to move to 102? Will I be able to get good seats or will I have to take the left overs? It will not be fair for me to bump someone who has been siting in the same seats for years. Would it be smart to decrease my donation and move to 102 or 106 now so I will have good seats when the required donation goes up?
Re: SMU ANNOUNCES NEW PRIORITY SEATING & PARKING PLANSBig Hoss I don't think anyone minded if people moved over to your section before it was $700.00 a seat What we don't like is when we have to ask or get into it with some one that is sitting in our seats when we leave and come back.
And is it square to think you can buy a $10.00 ticket and then sit in $1400.00 seats People won't put up with it .
Re: SMU ANNOUNCES NEW PRIORITY SEATING & PARKING PLANSIf I pay the 1k to keep my 204 tix and I see some three collar popping frat punk stroll into my section with his fat little girlfriend. You can bet the farm that I will be laying the beat down on him. Having been a season ticket holder since way back in 2005, I think this is a little much. If they want to reward loyal fans, then they should grandfather us in and overcharge the bandwagoners.
Re: SMU ANNOUNCES NEW PRIORITY SEATING & PARKING PLANSI guess I look at it as supporting my school, not that I paid a lot more for my seats than someone else. Instead of just handing them $1000/year for nothing in return, I get 6 football games out of it. And the boulevard is just icing on the cake. But I get it if you guys don't see it the same way.
Re: SMU ANNOUNCES NEW PRIORITY SEATING & PARKING PLANS
I think they got a little crazy on 204 @ $1000.00 should have been $750.00 Hoarse Up!
Re: SMU ANNOUNCES NEW PRIORITY SEATING & PARKING PLANSI wonder how much parking is going to be, and vard spaces.
Re: SMU ANNOUNCES NEW PRIORITY SEATING & PARKING PLANSSomething else to consider on this point...
SMU has had 24 losing records since 1984. Then we have 1 winning season and get hit with this?? I could understand it if we had 4 or 5 strong bowl seasons and they wanted to implement this logic. But what if the 2010 team only wins 4 games? Then what are they going to do? Go back to a plan that makes sense? I just thing this was way to early to force the season ticket holders to pay for PSLs. If we had graduated from UT or Alabama or the U of Florida where there is serious tradition for winning football, thats one thing. SMU football is not a powerhouse... We are a hopeful. This is a policy for a powerhouse... period. This whole thing makes me sad and it makes me feel distanced from MY team. In a way I feel betrayed. Anyway...
