I don't have a problem with the idea.

For those that blah blah blah about being Mustangs and not racing horses, we are not shetland ponies either, but there one is.

I guess I just don't have a lot of vitriol for this kind of cr@p anymore. I am not a fan of the Mustangs that were given to us, but I have accepted the fact that they are here for the near term, because SMU would look like a [deleted] to give them back. I would prefer to get some SMU students on them at the least. I concede that the shetland pony doesn't come across as menacing to people unfamiliar with the mascot's history. I also concede that I am not a huge fan of the band's Mr. Peppermint uniforms or playing "Stardust Memories" at halftime. This school has gameday atmosphere issues in the stadium and I am willing to look at anything and everything to fix that.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Tradition is a shared experience that adds stability to a shared experience and is based on success. I am less interested in starting a new intro tradition than I am in breaking a current tradition.

It is now tradition for the students to haul tail to the frat houses to guzzle beer and skip the second half. Without students, players and coaches, tradition can’t be achieved. We need the students to enjoy victory more than guzzling beer at a frat house. Start winning and students will stay and traditions will flourish.

If that is a new tradition, it isn't new, because it dated back to the Ownby days of the 89-95 for sure.
