Utah 68-Iowa State 27 at Iowa State. ISU is much better this year than they have been in the recent past.

Saying Iowa State is better this year than in the past is like saying a kick in the stomach is better than a kick in the junk. Yeah, it's not as bad, but it still pretty much sucks.

Iowa State has 3 of those oh so difficult BCS Big12 wins, including against Texas.

If TCU goes into Salt Lake and plays well and wins against a Utah team which wil play hard and injuries don't affect the outcome....then I say TCU should be #1. That is one hostile enviroment but may be helped by playing in the afternoon. Both of these teams seem to "get through" their MWC schedules but both prepare well for the big matchups they face every year. Patterson and Witt may be the two most productive coaches in America. Two guys with defensive backgrounds who have good special teams(although TCU's kicker cost them the game two years ago) and Paterson finally let TCU's offense "out of the closet" when Schultz left two years ago. I like Utah's do whatever it takes to win mentality but I also like TCU's play hard, smart and fast mentality! May be the best game of the year. You guys watching Bama-LSU just like the bigger crowds, Cheerleaders and all the hype. If you want to watch football the way it was meant to be played watch TCU-Utah.

Without doubt that LSU-Alabama game on CBS will have very few viewers compared to the massive populace glued to the CBS College Sports Network to "watch football the way it was meant to be played".

I'm aware that SMU has a limited vested interest in Non-AQ schools performing well, but who is really going to see it?

Not this year. Nebraska beats Iowa State 31-30 in overtime.

Nebraska is great or something? They are a average team in the big 12 which is not saying much. The big 12 this year is DOWN big time. Just makes Iowa St look better....they are still trash.

Tailgate#33 wrote:TCU has never won a game @ Utah but I would bet good money that TCU wins by 10-20 points. Utah is way overated! I don't think they are a top 25 team.

Utah so far...
Thu, Sep 2 (15) Pittsburgh W 27-24 --
Sat, Sep 11 UNLV W 38-10 --
Sat, Sep 18 at New Mexico W 56-14 --
Sat, Sep 25 San Jose State W 56-3 --
Sat, Oct 9 at Iowa State W 68-27 --
Sat, Oct 16 at Wyoming W 30-6 --
Sat, Oct 23 Colorado State W 59-6 --
Sat, Oct 30 at Air Force W 28-23

WHo have they played that is worth a poo? Almost lost to Air force & Pitt. Other then that all they teams they have played are a joke and have like 1 or 2 wins. Utah is so overated it makes me want to throw up.....excuse me...

Did someone say something about Utah being OVERRATED???

Utah should be out of the top 25 they are playing sub par teams every week. Look what happens when they meet a team with talent. CRUSH!

give Utah credit...they beat Pitt who is still unbeaten in the Big East. TCU just matches up well against them. Doesn't mean Utah stinks. Doesn't mean TCU is deserving of the #1 ranking, either.

TCU, Boise, Oregon & Auburn are all really good teams, as are several around the country with one or two losses.

If the season ended today, Auburn plays Oregon for the title. I just hope TCU and Boise get to play a BCS conference champ this year (assuming they both win out)

TCU and Boise will play each other again. And it will not be for the BCS Championship.

that is probably the sad truth of where this season is headed. On the plus side, TCU/Boise is setting up as a great rivalry for years to come.
