I would hope they could open by at least 10am. Barley House will be open at 10am. Last week I hit 1st and ten for the first half and then Barley for the second. I am leaning towards Barley for the entire game this time, as we started winning when we got to Barley. I was able to channel my energy better at Barley. I dont know why. Maybe it was because the spector of Death was not lurking around me as much as at 1st and ten.

There was a group of people watching the game at Milo's last week.
We got them to put the SMU game on the big TV and the Iron Bowl on one of the smaller ones since we got there early enough.
Just glad there is more than one choice for people to get together and watch the game.

I agree Skyscraper. Thre more places that show SMU football the better.

And the plot thickens...

Just got a text from the owner of Christies in Uptown that the game will be on the big screen, bigger adjacent screens and sound throughout. Now, I dont think he is doing this because I'm such a wonderful person or because I own the office building where he operates. I think it's because there isn't jack squat going on in that time period. Other "big drawing" games dont come in till Oregon and Auburn I imagine. And I dont fault Christies for this...you have to pay the bills and cater to your largest constituency. Normally it would be those front running, worthless UT people but I digress...

I want to be around SMU fans so that's the reason for going to 1st and Ten and Barley. But I like to be in my neighborhood as much as those who live in Lakewood like to be in theirs. Hell, one of my brokers lives one block down the street from 1st and Ten. Guess where we drink when he gets a hall pass? So decisions, decisions. I probably need to conclave.

I was planning on 1st and 10, but if there are other options, that might give me pause. Christies is stumbling distance to other bars I frequent if (when) we win, and stumbling distance home if (we won't) lose.

If we can't get an answer on the opening time for 1st and 10 in the next 24 hours, I might have to inform my contingent of the change in plans.

ppl show up well before 11 to open a place serving food. just drag the bartender out one hour early and you're golden for 10am opening. if someone comes in at 10am and demands steak, tell him he has to wait. if barley and christies, both vastly larger operations can do it, then it wont be a problem for 1st and 10. this is probably a non-issue and dutch would say hes opening early if he was near a computer.
