On the day before the CUSA championship I wore an SMU button on my suit lapel. An older gentleman got on the elevator (I work in Austin), took a look at my lbutton and said "SMU? Isnt that where Doak Walker played?" I said yes and the old gentleman said "I grew up in Atlanta and the only thing I knew about Texas when I was a kid was that Doak Walker played in the Cotton Bowl on Saturdays."

String all the quotes together of the former players being excited about the Hawaii Bowl game last year, and those are my collective favorite quotes. That's what I took away from the film is that those guys still care about their school and their team doing well. Would love to see us round up those guys for 30 year anniversaries of all those SWC championship teams coming up in the next couple years.
