I do not understand why they did not fire him. He resigned. Yes, it is said that they "forced" him to resign, or gave him the option, but would it not have had a better impact had they fired him?

Not that they're hurting for cash, but since he resigned they don't owe him anything as opposed to having to be on the hook for his contract or having to roll the dice and try to fire him with cause.

But unless I ( the administration) am guilty, I fire him and I have plenty of cause due to what he has done to the program. Now, if I (the adminstration) have some skeletons I have hidden and Tressel knows where they are, I let him resign.

Why not death penalty for OSU? 2 faced NCAA doesn't want to anger TV gods which was not a concern when SMU got banged.

Continue the futility of dreaming the impossible dream. Painful as it may be, Patterson will be TCU's Joe Paterno. Get used to the idea.

You probably right Corp. The coach of a team that shouldn't have left it's independence/mtn west status to become a middle of the pack bcs team who loses big games every year and occasionally sneaks into a decent bowl game.
Also a guy many want to leave but won't...
Nice job!

Well, you should feel good that TCU already has one huge fan on this site, well, he splits time as a HUGE longhorn fan too. If you spend any amount of time on this site, you already know who he is.

The poster who compares Fatterson with Paterno totally shows his ignorance (must be a froggie grad student). Paterno= total class and fatterson= well, let's just say the complete opposite.

TCU in the last 2 classes is recruiting the players it needs to become an elite Big East team. Stallion-"Predicting success for TCU before it happens based on recruiting alone since 1998"

Stallion obviously doesn't understand that Big East and elite football is an oxymoron.

As usual, Stallion remains this forum's lone voice of reality.
Listen and learn.

so I guess this has been asked somewhere along the way...are you a aTm shill or a TCU shill? If the latter, what's the genesis of your screen name?
I will not make age an issue in this campaign. I'm not going to exploit for political purposes my opponent's youth and inexperience.
