Positive note, how much do you think this will absolutely [deleted] off to high heaven the:

a) AD
b) Turner
c) Boosters
d) CoC

They aren't just going to sit back and wallow in their own tears when their rival of 90 years and sister school in the Metroplex gets invited to the AQ conference they were openly pushing for and they get left out in the could.

Someone should pen a nice article for the DMN raking students, faculty, and alumni over the coals for doing darn near irreparable harm to their own school for being a bunch of apathetic, SEC-sniffing tools too lazy and hung up to actually put the time in to try and build something instead of riding the jock straps of bandwagon-ville.

When someone whines about not being good, you can always point west and say, go ^%&* yourself.

I think we are toast and Orsini-Turner know it. The huge publicity blitz a few weeks ago was a last gasp.

You really have some issues...first way up then way down....

Listen...we are prob going to be left out...if you didnt think that was going to happen you never stepped back and looked at what was going on....I think we have 5-6 years to get this all together and make another push....this isnt over...its going to be hard, but we can either step up or quit...you make the choice...

the big east is done. we could join some of their remnants along with some other cusa schools. i''m not sure that does us any good.
we are in a good spot in dallas.
sooner or later we may be attractive to an aq conference that wants to expand into this market.
i'm glad we aren't one of ut's lap dogs.
jump ou jump.

FYI - From what I have read and heard, TCU would not be bound to the 27 month commitment to leave the Big East. I know we accepted the invitation but we have not joined the league yet and I don't even know if we have signed a contract. Just what I am reading...not confirmed.

As you can imagine, TCU fans have researched realignment in depth because of the roller coaster. Regarding the BE, the AQ is guaranteed through 2013 regardless of how weak or strong it is. After that, there is at least a two year grace period to reconstitute the conference and and work on the AQ stats necessary. Even then, there are no provisions for taking away AQ status. Therefore, The BE (as long as they have enough teams has at least 2 years after this one as AQ and probably four unless they lock the doors and turn out the lights.

Good article for SMU and UH last night and this AM. Due to the 27 month rule (TCU not affected due to the recent poaching) the Conference could look like this through the 2013 season:

Cuse
Pitt
UConn
WVU
Cincy
Rutgirls
USF
Louiville

Plus:
UH
SMU
UCF
Navy

If TCU stays, UCF or Navy would go away.

Yeah I've read that article. Thanks for posting. However, I do not think we are in the top six potential candidates for the Big East, even if TCU decides to go to the Big 12.

P.S. What do you have against Rutgers calling them "Rutgirls" :)

Only thing we have going for us now is location...we need these politicians and businesses to get involved...this is going to be a blow to the dallas economy if we get left out....Big 12 will be going to ft worth, cowboys in arlington, ect....

Dallas has to realize there is a money consequence to SMU being left out....

I wish TCU the best, but I hope SMU is right there with them shoulder-to-shoulder whether it's BE, MWC, etc. If TCU get a rent-a-spot in the Big 12 (because it's toast in 5-6 years), they deserve the chance.

Certainly the Big 12 is not a bastion of stability but we really don't have much choice. If TCU passes, then I expect they will just move onto Louisville, WVU, etc.

So do you think TCU would actually pass on the invitation? I saw a lot of people over at killerfrogs repeating that sentiment.
