Re: Big 12 looking outside of state to expandI think its pretty clear that the only school that possibly would have the votes from the PAC 12 is UT alone if they modified the LHN. And that's not clear. The other schools in any combination clearly don't have the votes-this basic fact was obscured by the blame cast on the LHN. OU tried to do an run and it failed. OU and OSU didn't have the votes and neither does Tech. For some reason the obvious is not getting through to the fans of some schools.

Re: Big 12 looking outside of state to expandI know when people think of the PAC12 they think of high caliber schools: Cal, UCLA, USC, and Stanford. But there are also (listed with unsews undergrad ranking): ASU(132), AU(124),WSU(115), UO(101), OSU(138). These are not academically elite schools by an means. OU(101), OSU(132), and Tech(160), do not nearly stick at as most people think they do. Tech may stick outsome, but expansion and conferences these days are about money. When combined with Texas they don't look like too crazy of a package when considering the revenue added. Who ever the Big12 adds will not replace the value of A&M, and possibly Missouri. Texas could very well be tempted to look to the Pac12 again when TV contracts get renegotiated with its pod in tow. I would imagine networks are trying to find anyway possible to pay the Big 12 less now that they will lack A&M.
Re: Big 12 looking outside of state to expand
UT should go independent. Play who you want, when you want, keep ALL the revenue. Who wouldn't want to play them? TV loves them. They travel well, sell out at home, and win a national championship every now and then. Indy would work for them. Join a conf for the lesser sports...
