Exactly....good for Rice. We will get spanked badly and easily.... We won't sniff 31....

Which stats would you like to directly compare SMU '12/Rice '13 vs. A&M?
Points: 31-3 Rice 1st Downs: 28-17 Rice 3rd Down Eff: 7/17 - 3/18 Rice Rushing: 306-106 Rice Passing: 203-203 Tie
Points Allowed: 48 - 52 SMU Pass Allowed: 380-284 Rice Rush Allowed: 225-202 Rice 1st Downs Allowed: 28-25 Rice 3rd Downs Allowed: 12/20 - 4/10 Rice
Plus the eyeball test.
Rice tackled better (yep), had a better defensive scheme (yep), had a better running game (yep) and moved he ball more efficiently (yes again).

They didn't play vs JF until third quarter, where they then fell apart. Two halves of that would have looked a lot like our game.

Matt Joekle did just fine. He was the #29th ranked QB in his class and A&M's projected starter last year...I don't think it makes 100+ yards of difference. Just wait.

First, we had a week to prepare for a new factor (JF). At the time he played against us, he was not the fantastic QB he became. He developed through the year.
Rice had two huge advantages. They had an entire off season to view film and prepare schemes and execution. And they had a year's worth of film to study JF's tendencies and prepare for that.
Rice '13 vs. SMU '12 isn't an oranges to oranges comparison.
We get to prepare two weeks for A$M this year. And we have much more film to study. I'm not ready to give up on this month just yet.

Rice looked better prepared and performed better against their former B12 opponent...period. I pulled out the stats to clear up the "confirmation bias" comment. If you didn't watch Rice vs. A&M and notice a completely different level of preparation, you're blind. We got lit up by a walk-on running an offense that was super-simplified offense because he only had a few weeks to prepare.

Rice played very well. There are a much better coached team than SMU.

What is that gesture he kept making with his hands last Saturday-"Show me the Money?" or "Counting his Money". Not enough comment on how classless that was after his NCAA suspension.

Kirk Herbstreit said that was a shoutout to Dre (the rappper). Some of the players on the Clemson team did it as well. Not as big of a deal as we thought it was.
