Of course, SMU does have a chaplain so I guess we do waste money on superstitious nonsense a bit.
Since we have a theology school, maybe we get one for free......

This is a good example of perception by those who don't know including recruits and their parents. You don't have guys like that in the middle of the sidelines or around the head coach or assistants. the only time they are to be seen is when attending to a player. He looks like just another disinterested coach. Football is a passionate game, not for the meek and mild-mannered.

An unlucky disinterested person among a sideline of disinterest

I've never seen some many Aggies in an SMU visitors section. I'm assuming SMU had to have sent many tickets back for there to be so many. We had less than half the fans there that we had even on the last trip to College Station. Were there even enough to sell some tickets in the secondary SMU section in the rafters? I saw maybe a couple of dozen up there that might have been SMU fans. What did we have 900 fans that bothered to show up?
I was sitting in that section and have sat in that same section the last 3 times we've played at Kyle. There were aggies everywhere. Sitting next to me, in front and back. Never seen anything like it.

Technically, the doctors on the sideline are not spectators, but working. The sideline doesn't change the facts that their job is to minister to the injured if called upon and nothing else. In other words, the doctor is focusing on his job, not cheerleading.
The doctor is a medical professional and should acts as a professional when on duty (hey, it is part of his licensing requirements), not comport as a cheerleader.

Pony in NC, don't let some of the strong June supporters keep you from being an SMU supporter. I thought the question from the picture was legitimate. Everyone takes their cue from the coach so it is natural to assume this lackadaisical attitude permeates down through to the water boy.
I live in NY and don't make it to these games. I'd like to travel to some games now that we play some teams in the northeast, but honestly, I don't really feel like getting embarrassed. I started watching the game against the Aggies, and couldn't bare to watch past the first quarter. You have to be a masochist to want to watch that game. I think watching the SMU football game against A&M is like watching car crash videos or accidents you just can't stop watching. You know what the final outcome is going to be yet you still watch it in agony.
The football product on the field is flat out atrocious, and the coach (who is fully responsible) is about as excited and fired up as I would have if I were undergoing a root canal.
It's tough to support this football team because we have been beaten down so long that instead of trying to be something, many settle for mediocrity or some semblance of mediocrity. I will still keep giving money to SMU, but it is now solely focused on academics, not a single dime goes to athletics, not until they shape up. At least, basketball is in the right direction, and very excited about that team, but football which gets the majority of the funds is an abomination.

I've known Dr John Baker, MD (Orthopedics) since we were both 4 years old. John was a Missouri state champion in back stroke, and swam with me on a medley relay team, which made All American status. He was class speaker at our high school graduation ceremony. He went to Purdue on a swimming scholarship, and University of Missouri Medical School. He completed his residency at Parkland Hospital, Dallas, and is a partner, along with several SMU other grads, like Buzz Burkhead ('74), at The Carrell Clinic. He was asst. medical director for The Dallas Cowboys for many years, and medical director for The Dallas Stars for several years. I believe he was honored by the Mustang Club several years ago. And, at 61 years old, he probably is in better shape than 95% of the posting members of PonyFans. He takes his job seriously, and I"ll cover his back anytime, no questions asked.......So back off JOs : ) Pony Up and have a nice day !!!!

holy Jesus titts we have covered this - i should have snapped 10 other shots of the rest of the "no-emotion crew" not named Dr. Baker. But then their BFF's would have come one here and defended them too.
