I think Charlie Strong would be an excellent hire-so would David Shaw and about 6 other coaches they are looking it. I saw a Poll on Shaggy Bevo and there doesn't seem to be a consensus after Saban. I doubt Franklin at Vanderbilt is really much of a candidate though

They have exactly ZERO history of being able to pull in big names from huge programs. The talk of Harbaughs, Saban, Fisher going to UT is an absolute joke. It is a good gig, but not good enough to leave another major gig for it.

I keep hearing that there are a lot of issues between Briles and UT that wouldn't allow it to happen, regardless of the buyout. Politically, is UT going to validate another in-state university buy buying out its coach? I doubt it.

David Shaw is an interesting name, but I don't know if he is established enough yet. Not sure if he is still running off of what JH did.

The Vandy coach is an interesting idea as well. I would be surprised to see UT go to a private school for a coach. They want someone who has experience with a larger school.

My top pick for UT would be Charlie Strong. Great recruiting ties in south Flordia, with combined with the Texas base would be immense. He could hold out a year if Brdigewater comes back and wait for Florida or Miami to open up, but I think he would be a great choice. If he moves to UT, I bet Schiano would go to Louisville.

Spot on.

I can see Strong going.

Shaw grew up at Stanford and I think it's going to be difficult to get him.

Franklins from Pennsylvania, I think he might want Penn State.

Interesting rumor about Jimbo: Apparently he has a son with Spina Bifida(sp) and UT is trying to sell him on their medical capabilities as opposed to FSU's brand new Medical school.
